Ive just put a piper exhaust on my GTi6 and its way to loud. Ive had a few complaints from some people in my street as I have to leave for work at 5am and they say my exhaust wakes them & there children up lol. is piper known to be a loud exhaust or are the even louder?

To be fair, standards a good way to go, maybe with a decat.

Have you considered it, perhaps for peace in your street? LOL

106Lad's is the loudest i've heard.

All I remember of having a loud exhaust when I was younger was how damn annoying it was on the Motorway. Do you not find that?

I had to drive an almera GTi with no bumpers, no tailgate, no lights/indicators, no interior (literally nothing bar the dash, wheel and gearnoCool, a smashed in read passenger quarter where a motorbike had hit it and a broken rear axle mount on the same side making the car wobble like mad, sometimes settling into a sideways crab motion and sometimes straight...ish. I bought it to swap the running gear into another car and

yup. doesn't have to drive straight, over 30mph or even be comfortable as long as it sounds good and turns heads (albeit for all the wrong reasons).

said car. notice the rear wheels.

I've got a random backbox, LASER.....i thought they only did bike ones!

It hums nicely on idle, and only kicks out some real noise when it's being caned......just how i like it, i can drive past a bunch of chav tossers and they'll not give me one look.....i could roar past and turn every head though with the Pipercross on full suck!!

Funny actually, i thought after a few cars being stolen in the area, that mine would have been attemped within 4 months of owning it......so far not a sausage! The visible steering lock probably helps!

Well I thought mine was loud. Ill have to check for any holes as it is 2nd hand from ebay lol. Im pretty sure its ok tho. But its a bit to loud for my liking. My G/F amd I have just had a little baby girl too and the baby aint very keen on the noise when she is in the car.

Check to see if all of the joins between each part of the exhaust are completely together.
I changed my cat recently, and its not exactly the same fit and has pulled the centre silencer too far to one side, so the join between cat and centre silencer isn't quite flush (next thing on the to do list!).
This very slight gap has made it considerably louder, so maybe check for that. Dunno
