Carl do you have a photo of the sand/grit blaster you have, is it just the same to look at as a painters gun?

Cheers Carl

Suspension and driveshafts are all back on,

So I put it back on its wheels to see how it sits;

Hopefully once all the wieght goes in it would go too much lower!!

Strut brace painted in met black;

All new front calipers and carriers;

All painted red, de-cat pipe also painted as it wouldnt polish up nicely;

The car is also booked in at a mates bodyshop on the 18th May to get its colour, so I have started the long boring task of flating it all down!

Ive been glued to this thread right from the start, stunning work Carl, i love the attention to detail thats gone into this, its a shame that most of it wont be seen! The end result will more than make up for that though im sure. Just out of interest, have you made that de cat yourself? It doesn't look like any i have seen before Dunno

ThanksSmile

The de-cat is a proper Peugeot Sport group A rally item, made by Magnex/CLF very hard to get and not cheap, I got mine direct from France many years ago. No longer available now sadly.

Spent several hours rubbing the body down and got bored so attacked the bonnet to make it lighter and get rid of the rusty frame!

before;

removed parts;

after;

and rubbed down ready to paint;

painted the inside of the wings;

and polished the exhaust up;

he is but with out sounding harsh to him, I wouldnt let him paint my car, hes just letting me use his paint shop and showing me how to do it myself!!

There is another place I use near by which is good but not cheap.

I'm also interested in this other bodyshop you speak of Carl. My rear bumper needs repairing and repainting (or replacing if I can find a mint one in China Blue) sooner or later. Not sure how easy it would be to repair the ~6 inch split in it. Unsure

I want a decent job done otherwise I might as well not bother. Smile

you need to get some Bilt Hamber Dynax underbody (UB ) wax. Thumbs up

great for wheel arches and floor pans.

p*sses all over everything else on the market is lovely to apply and it would be criminal to have it so clean and not underseal it properly.

Ill get some pics up of my boot floor to show you. it dries to a nice dull black. Ive used alot of BH stuff recently and just love the stuff.
