I used a hammerite gel, you just keep brushing it on until all the rust was gone, was really good

Yes sandblasting went everywhere!!!

But it did get all the rust off, the kurush doesnt remover rust it kills it and acts as a barrier to prevent more rust so you paint it on, let it go black/blue then paint over it.

what kind of sandblaster have you got? did it not go everywhere?

how good is the kurust at getting it out of the pits?

im currently using bilt hamber deox gel, not as good as i had hoped really, wont get it out the pits and wont go on as it is supposed to its too thin.

im getting there on one of the legs but its taken me four days so far to get rid of ALL the rust out the pits.

John, Use a twisted wire brush designed for use in a grinder to get the rust out. I used one for the rear end & it worked a treatThumbs up

Yes that worked well but on deep rust it only got around 90% of it off

Hmm, never had a problem with deox-gel, I treated the GT6 with it and that had serious rust of the 'look at it and it'll fall off type'

Yes all aches were stonechip too, yes the plates were plastic and just stuck down with tigar seal/stick a flex, which you can get from any motor store.

It can be done with the engine still in if you want to. Just un-bolt it all from under the car and leave the engine hanging on its top mounts.

Sorry didnt think it meant that much to people!LOL

And yes I have found more rustAngry

Anyway here is the update!

Front bed/subframe and various other bits refitted;

ABS pump painted;

And then refitted;

I then removed the front screen ready for the respray. This came out so easy it was surprising! I started to cut the bonding with a knife but as I pushed on the screen I found it just came un-stuck!! So I just pushed the whole thing out! It came out in one piece which would never have happened if you didnt want it to break, but this screen has gone milky on the bottom so will be replaced anyway.

Cut all the sealer off ready for the new screen;

Sadly the rear screen was not as easy! I gave it a good push but it was stuck firm, the sealer/glue was solid and down the sides you cant get to it as its curved and over an inch in! After trying to cut it out for about an hour this happened!

I should have just done that in the first place! The rear sreen is going to be replace anyway with a phase 3 one! I then cut all the sealer off but this took ages on the rear as it seems alot stronger than the front one despite the both being the original Peugeot items.
More rust was found along the bottom of the rear window but it was only surface rust so it was quickly removed, treated and primed!
