I would personally leave the 200 miler with the original plate. But I'm just anal like that, I'm currently trying to find someone to make me copies of my existing dealer fit plates LOL

Use the new plate on this project, you can always transfer it later to the 200 mile one. (If you wanted to)

Ok its been long time since an update but thats because its been more of the same! Rust removal! But I think I am finally there now, the last bits have been done so lets hope it all doesnt come back!

It seems the rust on the front floor pan had been creaping behind the rubberised stone chip Peugeot put on! So I had to peel a lot of this off and blast and trat it all.

As the engine bay was still badly pitted from where all the rust had been sand blasted of this was stone chipped same as the rear floor was done.

Then the front arches were acid etched primed

    And then stone chipped aswell

Now this is left to dry fully for a few days ready for the top coat at last.

Yeah the rallyes seem not to be as well rust proofed as the 6s are!

The blue stuff is Kurust treatment.

It wasnt minty white that was the Acid ectch primer, as the car is going to be a touring car rep in Yellow the engine bay and interior on them car was graphite grey hence why I have done it like that.

    so to confirm,
you applied kurupt to the pitted/rust areas
then sandblasted this off aswell as generally sandblasting the other areas, then acid etched followed by stone chipping, which is ready for a top coat then of your grey colour?

i have also spotted rust the front chassis leg on my p1 but nowhere near as bad as what has been mentioned, unless the p1's are not as bad as the later ones Unsure

no sandblasted and grinded rust off first, then treated with kurust just incase any was left, then acid etched primer, then stone chip, then motorsport grey and finally clear laquer!

P1s seem to be the best of all for not rusting from what I have seen!

what kind of sandblaster have you got? did it not go everywhere?

how good is the kurust at getting it out of the pits?

im currently using bilt hamber deox gel, not as good as i had hoped really, wont get it out the pits and wont go on as it is supposed to its too thin.

im getting there on one of the legs but its taken me four days so far to get rid of ALL the rust out the pits.
