Right, got a new engine, bare block from a 2009 model with only 1000 miles on the clock - interior looks almost brand spanking.
Unfortunately the sump, end plates, trigger wheel and entire oil system is different so there's a fair bit of work in fitting it, but it does mean I can pull the old engine out for a rebuild and take some time with a die grinder to bridgeport it...

Right, last race this weekend @ Ebbw Vale, we're still a single point in front for our class atm, so as long as we finish, we should win it, so if anyone fancies lending a hand just in case we have to swap a couple of flats or something over it'd be appreciated!

A lad over on the lancerregister dug out a photo from Walters last year too:

Front left wheel was going some LOL

One very shit, wet and very slippy event today - complete with wet grass, mud, sheepshit and peat bogs that you could have sand into and dissapeared.
Crap course for a 2wd car, but there was a lovely bit of gravel near the start that we made some time up on, so we ended up 10th overall, had a puncture on run one which mean we had to put old knackered tyres on which didn't help.
Still, no other 2wd even managed to get around a single lap, never mind the full race, so we won our class by a long way and have won our 2wd championship class by over 100 points. Thumbs up

And some shiny new Fox dampers have just turned up to replace those old Bilstiens on the back Hyper
So, naturally, I've got the spanners out and I'm tearing them to pieces.....LOL

Coilovers so we can rip out the rear torsion bar system as it wears through it's suspension bushes what seems like every ten minutes, then the toe in changes on the throttle....Blink .... so it's getting replaced with two fabbed up pates and a farkorf big rose joint Ninja

I'm going to see if I can scavenge the remotes off the bilstien dampers and make an adaptor to use them on the front Foxes too, as they're just high-pressure emulsion types, so they're fading a bit on the fast stuff.

Oh, and the radiator/cowlings/mounts/pipework have all been replaced so we could drop a high-flow radiator in to take the supercharger when we bolt that on later in the year, it looks a bit crowded with a radiator designed for a 700bhp skyline in though...

Well, had fun today, after gassing the new dampers up one of the new pipes had a bloody weep Doh

So, instead of bolting everything on and getting a bit of testing in this afternoon, I'm waiting on a new pipe to arrive in the morning before we can even bolt the suspension and panelling on Doh

Who's free tommorow morning? Whistle

Well, managed to finally finish off the mods for the new rear suspension this weekend (with a much appreciated helping hand from Cooper666 again, I really didn't think he'd be daft enough to come a second time LOL ).

I did take some pictures of it all on but the phone camera lens must have had some grease on it as they're blurry as hell Doh

Just waiting on a new clutch, new rear springs and some Carbotech XP10 brake pads for the rear to arrive now, then mad rush to get the engine in and everything else back on before Friday Mellow

Waterbeach @ Cambridge this weekend - flat airfield course, loads of gravel and concrete, no real mud/jumps or tight forest stuff so a little boring but great for being able to walk around without getting filthy or lost in a welsh forest if anyone fancies coming along.

Well, springs are here Big grin

Brake pads are here Big grin

Clutch firm sent us some new splined centres out for free because they couldn't do us a plate, which are being machined to fit the old paddle plate as we speak Big grin

And the engine is still sat in the corner and half the frame and bodywork is on the floor, 's gonna be a looong day today! Dry

Well, shiny red new arms, casing and rose joints:

Shiny red new XP10 brake pads:

And new damper mounts to allow twin springs so the torsion bars can be chucked:

Big grin

Clutch sorted, new synchro's in the gearbox, driveshafts rebuilt, inner bushes replaced in the arms, and nearly ready to go in the morning.
