I tried to relocate but in the end it just got removed. Havent seen any side effect as to this day so hopefully it was Peugeot just being a bit over protective.

That can be done i am sure using an electric power steering pump from a 106 or similer, most poeple tend to fall out with the idea once the build starts.

Always a first, would just need a few more thoughts on the idea and where everything would be located.

If they are anything like mine, you have a mounting kit supplied with the Spal slimline fans which is basically a cable tie which runs through the radiator core with a plastic washer that mates with the tie so they can be pulled up tight, they work well.

I mounted mine through the fins on the rad with small nuts and bolts, put rubber washers on each side of the bolts to protect the radiator.

The bolts just push through the fins, i did two on either fan.

Well as some of you may be aware the car has developed a clutch problem so it has now come to remove the complete engine and suspension and get everything re painted, reconditioned and put back together.

No point just removing the box and leaving it at that, this was planned for the winter but this has cropped up so why not, want it done quick time so hopefully have it done within a month, less if i can.

So we can go from this-

As you can see the paint in the engine bay has no depth to it (base coat no laquer) and on the joins etc like near the engine mount has started to rust, this will all be gone hopefully.

Carl

Not 100% sure but the paint in the bay is very dull and if using t cut etc on it removes the paint, so mits not laquered.

Cheers, Carl

All Peugeots are Laquered no mater what colour they are, even non metallic ones. Unlike most other car makers, so this helps them stay nicer for longer, but the down side is if ie the red fades you cant get to the paint under the laquer to bring it back.

So what bits are kept from the low boost to use in the high boost setup?

Just thinking what bits you'll have spare after you've done!!

The setup is identical, bar there is no need for the boost restrictor ring, and smaller diameter pipework if any.

Well taxed the car last week and have done about 600 miles in a week and have totally fell back in love with it but (there is always a but), i am not happy with the engine bay due to the rusty areas here and there-

This is what it looked like before i took alot of nuts and bolts away from it-

Most of you may think the bay looks ok, up close its a totally different story, it seems that the rallyes have an issue with rust in the engine bays, mine isnt bad but is there and looks horrid.

Strip down time, front removed-

Its quite surprising how rusty some of the brackets and various bits around the chassis legs are, i know the car is getting on for ten years but i always regarded Peugeots as being very good with the rot bug. Alot of the brown and messy stuff you can see on the car above is waxoil i applied about a year ago when i first installed the charger to help.

Intercooler and the pipework removed, also removed a few bits of wiring and the power steering res bottle-

What about re-spraying your cam cover back to black??

And removing the sound deadening on the bonnet - they look much tidier without them Cool
