There isnt a problem with the lines.
And as my suspisions are confirmd miles admits on the thread in the brake forum he doesnt do rear lines due to not haveing the dimensions!
I have answerd the question, stating they are made to the same lengths as standerd peugeot, after market rubber replacment hoses and braided lines.
And im still waiting for the person miles is ön about to contact me!
Have sold hundreds of these kits over the years and not had a problem.

Hmm can i just say from a business point of view, Miles will be wanting to give the customer the answer himself as part of his customer service. I can understand this from Miles, but on the other hand if you say the length is the same as other items then surely that's the size.....

Does sound like the ones he's fitted in a rare case are too long though....Quality Control i would suggest isn't 100% all the time in general, hence why people return items Smile

Pretty sure i have Blue Swampy hoses on mine tbh and i can't fault them one bit Thumbs up

I see what you're saying but the whole point of customer service is for Miles to be dealing with someone's car, they go to Miles for the questions and Answers and in this case not the person who's supplied the cables. It's all part of the service Miles as a business offers......to find, supply and troubleshoot any issues, i.e. communicating with you.

This is all i'll say, hope the issue gets resolved amicably

I do have the size's so stating 'confirmed miles admits on the thread in the brake forum he doesnt do rear lines due to not having the dimensions' is WRONG.
I can supply the lines, but cannot be bothered as it's not worth my time as I can make more money with other thing's.

Mind I've had another set for a 205 1.6 GTi from HEL and these are wrong as well, only one line thou and thats what they list in there kit.

well in my defense, I searched for this thread credit card in hand ready to order them

the first post i read is a problem from a reputable mechanic someone who makes his living from repairing, track prepping and rebuilding peugeots and parts asking a genuine enough question

the problem is the seller just dosnt seem to want to answer the question. I cant see any reason?

Just seems like a bit of bad customer service?

I will edit my previous post as I agree if its a genuine error then its not fair for the seller to have on his thread Smile

hope thats ok
Alan

Lolz. Love how swampy is still taking orders despite telling people to ignore Miles' question.

TBH, despite needing some braided hoses, and having a lowered car, i must admit that i'm a little put off by Swampy's response that the lines are perfect regardless and that there is absolutely, positively not a chance that anything could be wrong.

I'm NOT saying that all the 1000s of sets that he's sold are wrong, far from it as you rightly point out you have had many satisfied customers. I've ordered stuff thats 'made to order' and it's been too long / short etc and it's just a mistake that can sometimes happen. These are hand made after all.

It's not a dig at anyone, and I can see that from reading the whole thread, just seems like Miles thinks that they are a bit long, and wants to know how long they should be to make sure what he's holding in his hand is the right length (fnar fnar!) and that something has not gone awry in the manufacturing process.

I can't see how not answering him and trying to help would do anything apart from reassure other people that if they have a problem, you'll help them out!

Anyways, feel free to say FOYC if you like!

James

Im not getting in to this again, but look in the brakes section miles admits he doesnt supply rear lines so doesnt know how long they should be (i suspect he wants dimensions so he can make them)
i have answerd the question by saying that the lines are the same length as those supplied by peugeot plus the major oe supplier to the trade in the uk.
A rather well known company rebrand these exact same lines with there own branding and sell them at a number of shops via websites and guess what people havent said anything to them.

Why cant Miles just measure the ones he has if he wants to make them, or measure a standard set if they are all the same length??

I think you missed the point of my argument slightly, I was implying that this particular set was maybe a one-off mistake by the manufacturer?

All i am saying is that as a prospective customer, it doesn't fill me with confidence that if i did have a problem there would be some support from the seller, not just "There fine your wrong".

Mrs Wampy - from an outsider perspective that last page and a bit makes you look like an unhelpful idiot. I suggest you stop being so defensive and read back over it all.

There is nothing there that says there is a major issue with the brake lines you are supplying.
