Im using a similar oil cooler on my Mi 205 bud, got any thoughts on how you plan to route the hoses?

Is that a 16 row cooler?

It's a 19 row.

I have the hoses sorted now, although no pics until the weekend.

I have run an sandwich plate with a built in stat from the block to another stand alone oil stat (I found that the sandwich plate didn't close fully, so the oil was over cooled). The pipes then run over the rad into the cooler.

I used to use the spare fan cowling for the oil cooler which worked well too. But I couldn't do that this time due to the intercooler.

Evening all, got my new dummy Power steering pump today from Rich Walker. I have to say I am really chuffed with it, much better than running an actual pump in a closed loop as I had originally planned.

You may remember earlier on in the thread I made up a template for the pump and forwarded the details to Rich, the ‘pump’ had to be notched to clear the radiator.

From this:

To this:

I got the drive belt fitted to the charger aswell. I spent ages sodding around with the tensioner pulley trying to bend it back in order to fit the belt, I tried hitting it with various hammers, levering it with various screw drivers and chisels, taking it off and utilising the wife to hit it whilst I levered it (note: very risky activity). I then resorted to the Haynes manual (under wife’s instruction) although by this time I was convinced it was seized, low and behold all I needed to do was insert a ratchet into the square hole and lever it down! With that sorted progress could continue albeit with a very smug wife/ assistant. Blush

I had to cut a section out of the inner wing to clear one of the belt tensioners

I fitted my new SPAL 10’’ Fan, note the fitting kit is some long thin pins that slide through the radiator between the fins:

I finished plumbing in the supercharger fluid circuit, the black cylinder with the blue cap to the left of the headlight opening is the header tank.

Also a pic of the 19 row engine oil cooler fitted:

Ok, I need some help here. The car won't fire up.

I have fuel pumps working
Spark in the spark plugs
I have put a multi meter on the injector feed and get a pulse
Starter motor is turning
There is a pulse/pressure coming from the exhaust
I have tried adding power by boosting the battery with my BMW 530

but it won't fire up!

Help!

ECU unlocked? Fuel pipes connect the right way round?

CPS/CAM sensors connected properly?

The ECU was tested on my car, so it SHOULD be OK.

If he's getting fuel and spark I would assume it's unlocked.

Has it definitely got fuel pressure? i.e. make sure there's no airlocks and the pumps are primed properly.

Thanks for the replies.

I thought the fuel system would self prime? Ie build pressure then return via the regulator to the swirl pot.

I will try the sensors again.

I don't think the ECU will give spark without a working cam / crank sensor.

But check anyway.

I can lend you another ECU to try if you think that's the problem.

The fuel system should all self prime - although it may be worth disconnecting the return from the fuel rail just to check it's flowing OK.

Is it fook No

It's got compression, air, fuel and spark - everything needed for combustion - but it doesn't seem to be happening!

I've sent out another ECU to try, hopefully this will do the trick.

Really am puzzled on this one!!

I think it will have locked itself to your car rich when you tested it. Have you connected this one up to yours too before sending it out?

I always do them in such a way they can't lock to, or be locked out by my car.

Also, Garry's ECU has been de-immobilised by an ECU repair firm, so it would work in the 205 without the transponder etc.

This means the immobiliser comms. pins inside the ECU have been cut - so this means there's no way it can become locked, even if fitted to a foreign immobiliser circuit.

Smile

Must be fuelling, and i guess it'll be the fuel pump relay or the cutoff switch...

Check the loom from the ecu plug aswell as you've moved itYes

Again i doubt its the ecu as it worked on rich's car....
