I might be interested in this much later on down the line. i.e. end of this year / early next year, depending on my money situation.________________________________________ When I got home last night, my G/F demanded that I take her somewhere expensive - so, I took her to a petrol station.1993 L reg 205 with GTi6 engine and GTi6 brakes 1995 M reg FTO GPX manual |

I've only just come across this thread, brilliant cost for what looks like an excellent modification. How many hours labour would someone charge to fit one of these? (I'd rather not do it myself as if done incorrectly I'd rather not deal with the consequences!) Ry ________________________________________ Turbocharged Honda Integra Type R DC2 |

Ry You'd be best of changing the clutch whilst it's apart (the clutch has to come off anyway) so I'd say a little more than the cost of a clutch change ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. very interested in one of your flywheels but need to know if they have been heat treated to the same condition as the original flywheel ring gear as i'm concerned the teeth won't last as long? |

they are made from some hardened chromoly steel to withstand the teeth of death. You can just get it treated yourself beforehand to be sure. I think there has been at least one failure from the old type. |

Ry The book time for changing a clutch is 6.5 hours on Autodata - should give you an idea of what should be charged for the job. ________________________________________ Contact Details:rich@lynxpowerengineering.co.uk 07732 822546 |

They use to be made of EN8D grade steel - and the ring-gear has been damaged on a couple of these. To rectify the problem, they are now made from EN19T chromoly steel, and the width of the ring-gear has been increased too. The EN19T has a significantly higher Brunel number than EN8D [it's much harder basically]. If you still have concerns, it can be heat treated to your specification at cost. ________________________________________ Contact Details:rich@lynxpowerengineering.co.uk 07732 822546 |
