Did a couple of hours on it today as needed to get up and do something.

Sorry no pics but wil lget soem up soon.

I refilled the dash and gave that a good sand, its almost there now.

I fitted the bias adjuster in the dash centre. I didnt have a big enough drill bit, so drilled a 15mm and filed it out.

I then started on the wiring.

Fitted the battery terminals and ran a wire to the dash cut off switch from the back.

So had a very productive day today as Peugeot daves shed.

But first things first.

A couple of pics from yesterday.

the new battery terminals

I then stripped the wire to fit in the terminals.
Notice no cut strands!! years of practice LOL

and here is the bias adjuster fitted in the dash

I didnt take any more. but will do some tomorrow.

So back to today.

Went to Daves to get my calipers and rocker covers painted.

A bit of background, I painted the rocker covers ages ago with hi temp paint, then hi temp laquer on top and for some reason it reacted badly (looked like a spiders weCool
Ages ago it all got rubbed back and dave started to paint it, but was too damp so we gave up and last week he tried to paint them, but the primer just reacted again.
It must be the hi temp paint, so out came the paint stripper

this took for ever but once finished looked like this

Then time for primer

then came the colour, and i absolutly love it, its a bently black and looks the business

here is young David

I am a bit gutted I couldnt bring the calipers home to start rebuilding them, but it was too cold for the paint to dry all the way so will get them tomorrow.

So did a little running around today for supplies.
Had to get the 10mm unions for the calipers and the bleed nipples.

I then had to wait all day for dave to get home so i could get my calipers as the weather was so wet today couldnt do much.

So I started my fitting the seals and bleed nipples into the calipers

getting the seals in with my sausage fingers was not that easy, but I got there in the end.

next I inserted the pistons, I used some brake fluid to lubricate them as it makes them slide in easier I have found in the past.

that clamp isnt really stong enough, but it did the job in the end.

next was to fit the dust seals.

Then was time to make up the pipes to join the 2 chambers, I had to cut up the old ones to get the protective foam bit off of it.

here is a pic of them almost done, I just have to put in 2 more pistons and make a tool to push the dust sheilds home

put them under the radiator to let the paint cure

Looking good. You have a similar idea for the centre dash panel as me, wonder if they will end up the same!

So the sun was out today so I did some more to the car.

First off I ran the wires for the engine bay fuse box to the cut off switch.

I used the hole left by the AC/heater removal and will modify the plate I put over the hole so it looks neat and no draft in the car. ( the rallyes dont have this hole)

the two cables for the fuses.

have ordered a load of crimp terminals so when they get here I will get the ends sorted.

the thick wire Jim will crimp the ends for me as he doesnt trust me with his crimper and they are a lot bigger.

I also dont have enough of this wire to run to the switch from the box or te starter so another 5m will be ordered this week.

I also rerouted the cable for the fuel pump as it is neater to have all the cables running in the same place. The cables are now p clipped into place to.

Now I am sorry Rich, but I get so much grief from Jom about the weight of the swirl pot and I am going to run the pump inside it had to have a trim today.

the pipe is only left on there so I know which is the pump feed.

Will be getting some weld on connectors to go on the end for the aeroquip fittings, hopefully this month.

I also fitted the fag lighter(idont smoke, but i need to charge my satnav)

I then did some more running and stripping of the dash covering, its tacking forever, but its slowly getting there.

so another day on the car.

First off I had a tidy up and threw aload of stuff out.

While doing this saw that I didnt drill one of the door supports so did that.

Bloody 5 quid for a drill bit and this happened

never happy, but never mind

Next I cut up the ECU/battery box. I forgot to take pictures.

next I drilled 3 holes in the bot for the bolt.

the bolt heads where too thick, i could of forced the ecu in but decided to grind them down a bit so the ecu slid in better

To mount it to the bulk head, it needed the studs removed, so I ground them down and painted the bare metal

the bolts where put in then bolts put on, then attatched to the bulk head, i did this for 2 reasons, 1 they act as spacers and 2 the bolts wont spin when u do them up.

here it is all done, took absolutly ages to get it right, had to grind a little bit more off the bottom bolt to get it all to fit, but its all done and fitted.

Next I started on the cooling, I fitted the new temperature switch and test fitted the relay.

I then cut off the plug for the fans on the loom ready for the wires to be removed.

Before I rip it all out there is nothing on that plug or cowling I need to keep is there, the three relays just do the fans is that correct?

Well as today is my last day off of my xmas break I thought I would get a little bit more done.

First off I got the doors finished off ready for the welding.

Off came the sound deadening (its the same as whats on the floor)

I got the sound deadening off of this door and cleaned the residue off with thinners, but then my gauges arrived so I got on with that.

I measured marked and re measured where the holes where going to go, then I got out my hole cutter.

51mm one which is ideal because you then can file the holes out to get a nice tight fit.

for some reason I didnt order a voltage gauge, so this is next on my shopping list and the other hole is for the wide band lamba AFR sensor which I will purchase at some point, but they are a little expensive.

the bracket for the fuel presure one will need modifying as I cant see how the pipe goes on with out fouling, but shouldnt be too hard to whip a bit off

that the dash centre almost done appart from the two switches for the hasards and the heated window, just waiting on the wiring diagrams so i can convert to a 2 terminal switch

Not really dont much on the car lately as the snow basically covered her.

But had a phone call from Mr Walker saying Robins (Bininoz) water/meth system is off his car and he had my Head gasket and fuel pump, so off to Macdonalds to meet him.

So one fuel pump

looks so much better and meatier than the walbro one

and one uprated head gasket

they do look very well engineered, but not measured it up against the old one yet.

and one water/meth injection system

So after a bacon roll this morinig I started fitting the Injection system.

To make my life easier, or so I thought I pulled it all apart and started again.

After i stripped off all of the plastic loom protector off and all the tubes I set about mounting the tank and the pump.

After a bit of messing about I desided to mount the tank one side and the pump the other.

Once that was done, I started to remake the loom with the pipe in it.

First was the two wires for the level as they are the longest.

I cut the loom tube under the bottle so the pipe can be threaded though.

I used a set of draw rods as I had them and they do make the job so much easier to do.

then I threaded the rest of the wires and piping through.

The loom will run in the void under the tail gate to run round to the pump. then down the side of the car and crossing over under the seat, where the control unit will be mounted just under the front of the dash.

so once the cables where run in the loom tube, armed with the wiring diagram I started soldering the control unit wires

once that was done it all got taped up and tidied up

the wire for the LED and the arm switch (i will just use an Ingition feed)

I wont solder the two level feeds as will mean I have to cut them if i need to take it out so will just use bullets

Thought I would update this as I havent really done it for a while.

But I havent really doe much to be fair.

Jim welded up the door handle brakets I made and removed the door pin hole.

The doors now need to be prepped and painted, which hopfully my ginger freind Dave will do with me next weekend.

I have been busy ordering more parts.

I have a set of pro race 1.2s on the way from tweeks, for a set of 16"s with the fitting kit they are 380 quid delivered which I thought was pretty good.

I also ordered a volt gauge from rallye design which I forgot to order when I ordered te other gauges and also I ordered the oil pressure switch.

Also I ordered the AEM AFR gauge from 3000 Performance, bit pricy but really dont want the car running lean for too long.

Have placed an order for some consumables wich I need, but do need to measure up for some more p clips which I will do today get them ordered and then hopefully everythnig will be here next week and can have a good weekend at it next weekend.

Well been a bit busy tonight, but first things first.

A few pics of Jim welding the handle supports into the door filling in the holes where the door pins go.

The doors are getting preped and primered this week end so will get soem pics up of that.

So I got back from Newcastle late tuesday and had a few parcels waiting for me

So armed with all the gauges and a brand new box of mixed terminals plus all the old wiring from the car I set about making up the loom for the gauges

I started by stripping down the power loom for the AFR gauge.

I wont be using the 2 out puts on it, just the power and the Earth.

Out came my trusted ratchet crimps

and i soldered heat shrank the gauge lights, earths and power feed.

I brought a small fuse box so I can run a few things round the dash area, and the gauges are going to be on a switch.
The easiest way I think to run the fuse box is to connect it to the cut off switch.
So I made up a little loom with spades and a ring

and here it is finished.

and the gauge wiring all done

Next thing is to fit this little lot

So I got up nice and early this morning and popped up the shop for crusty rolls and bacon.(need to keep the workers happy)
and I connected up the radio in my garage.
So after coffee and bacon rolls me and David set about doing some work.

He got on and ground down the rest of the welds on the door ready for some filler and I did a few bits and peices on the car.

Here is Dave (he took me out in the car today must say am pretty impressed)

Here is the welds Jim did for me to remove the holes.

Then Dave set about prepping them

That pretty much took all day to get that far.
One still needs finishing off, but it got cold and the primer was taking for ever to dry.

They will be finished next weekend and in primer ready to fit.

While dave was busy with that I started my finishing off the water meth kit wiring

Then I removed the filler neck and the petrol flap

And lastly I removed the blanking plate that I fitted to block the heater matrix pipes as this is going to be used for my bulk head fittings, its only 1mm thick and after i Drilled and filed the holes I realised the smaller fitting has too long of a shoulder so it didnt fit tightly, so I then made one out of 3mm material (will get it welded in when we do the cage, more work for Jim)

More work tomorrow i am sure
