I've just been to pug to get some servicing bits for my '6, and while I was there I got my brother an oil filter for his phase 3 2.0 16v XSI. However the guy told me my filter was 1109.N2, but the FAQ says it's 1109.T0, however on another post someone bought 1109.N2 for their '6 so I'm confused! ![]() Which one is for my '6? 1109.T0? |

Upto build code 07874 - 1109 N2From build code 07875 - 1109 T0 All XU engined 306s have the same filters listed. I have no idea why they changed the filter though. ________________________________________ Rich |

I've used allsorts of filters on my Rallye, so I wouldn't be too worried about which one you get. Even used one destined for a 309! |

the 1109 TO has finer filtration for longer service intervals (EW engines use the 1109TO and have 20k service intervals)________________________________________ 306 rallye, Richard Longman enginerc10gt |

Yes that seems to tally... when I reset the service meter it say 9000 miles on my car but on my brother's it reset to 20k miles. Bit of a marketing ploy that is though.... it still requires an oil and fitler change every 10k like mine does at 9k lol. |

Does the 306 2.0 XSi Phase 3 (2000 W plate) use the same oil filter as the Phase 1? I have a handful of new filters left, bought when I had a Phase 1 (died in a crash on black ice through a stone wall last December). Can I also use the same Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 A3 B4 oil? Thanks ![]() |

The filters are pretty universal across all TU and XU engines (not sure about the later EW ones). I've certainly used the same filters OE filters on all my 106/306s.________________________________________ Trackday, trackday, trackday![]() |

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll do the oil + filter change on my week off soon then.I've only had my second 306 2.0 XSi since 3rd March this year, and apart from the usual wear and tear items due for replacement (discs, pads, tyres and exhaust), everything is in working order touch wood....even the central locking and electrics in general! Actually the only thing needing doing that bugs me, is it needs some new grips for the passenger window glass; if I wind the window down it rotates 45 degress and falls down into the door. After repositioning the glass and holding it in place, the motor winds it back up tight as normal. Where is it best to buy these window grips from cheaply, or do I just go to a main dealer? I have not looked inside the door yet, so I am only assuming it to be worn grips. Thanks ![]() |

Yes the grey plastic grips for the runner I believe is what I need. Thanks for the price info and are they easy to fit or a total pain in the butt? |

Ablister hit the nail on the head there with the filter information. I always use the T0 for piece of mind, even though the oil gets changed every 2k. ![]() Stan. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

I never even checked when I bought it but Peugeot gave me a 1109.AL when I bought a filter for the 6 a few weeks back. Any ideas where that one came from?________________________________________ ![]() You feed beefburgers to swans. ![]() I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

All my new boxed filters are the 1109 N2 variety. I guess changing more often will be ok and then switch to the T0? Or should I sell the ones I have and get a few T0 instead? |

To be honest I bet it makes sod all difference if you're changing them within the service interval for the car. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Just had a look at the filter the other day and found that access to it, is much more restricted than it was on my Phase 1 N reg 2.0 XSi. I use those three leg claw wrench but the air conditioning pipework is in the way, so I might have to place the tool on the ground and winch it up. |

Hey guys,Not to sound like a dickhead, but I'm sure this question's been asked many times before. However, as far as I'm concerned a filter is a filter, as long as it's a good brand and not a cheapo you have nothing to really worry about; especially at the rate some people change their oil on this site. If nothing else it's worth spending a little more on quality oil. Then again this piece of advice can be chucked on the "useless" pile if you don't need or want it...
