I’m looking into fitting some lowering springs to the front of my car. Done a fair amount of reading on the forum and on some of the older threads there seemed to be a quality issue with Blistien shocks. Can anyone tell me if this is still an issue?

I’m not looking at spending mega money on suspension as the car is only used as a weekend ride on British roads! I just want to get the stance down a little at front to improve the visual look, so only want to lower by 30mm. If any of you guys have any photos of your cars lowered by 30mm that would also be great to see.

I bought monroe as b4 were out of stick at time and seem pretty good with the eibachs

I've recently fitted Monroe to the rear and I'll be fitting the fronts asap. I believe these are the right one's from Mr Auto on ebay:

I've fitted 40mm lowering springs to standard dampers on other vehicles with no problem. Ideally you'd want shortened dampers (such as the Bilstein B8's) for lowering springs but I'm sure you'll be fine with standard Thumbs up

Thanks, I ideally want to keep the ride as comfy as possible so will look into uprating the shocks to B8's

With Christmas out the way now my minds back on getting my 6 sitting a little lower to reduce the factory arch gaps! My cars only ever going to be used for road use, my head says 30mm lowering springs but my heart says drop it 40mm for that sporty look. Having never run a car on lowered suspension set I’m I’m after people’s opinions on what the road comfort levels will be like? With different height drops and shocks.

Go with -30 and retain 55 profile tyres

Yes I wold like to retain my standard wheels and would rather not change the tyres for the time being as they have plenty of meat left on them. Will standard shocks be able to handle -30mm springs?
