I know this has been asked so many times before but really can't be arsed searching through 65 pages of arguments so my question is:
What exactly is in a B12 kit? Also, what's the difference between B6 & B8's for the back? And lastly, has anyone bought these recently as it seems by shopping around it can work out cheaper by buying from various suppliers instead of everything from one.

B6 only for the rear b8 for the front (not possible to get b8 for the rear on the 6)
These two combined with eibach -30 is the b12 kit
Find a supply from Germany is usually the cheapest option and if you can be arsed shop by part number not description
Anything sold as a gti6 kit will cost £100 more on average

Thanks mocinim. Its the websites that age confusing as some do listB8's for the rear but, as yiu suggest, the part number is actuality a B6. I'm looking for the full set so will search around and see if a German supplier is the way to go. Cheers

Thanks for the links, really useful. I also need springs (probably Eibach) which would essentially mean the B12 kit anyway. Was there a reason yhou said don't buy the B12 kit, or did you think I didn't need the springs?

You're welcome. Smile Oh sorry, I didn't recall the B12 kit had Eibach springs in it. If you want an all-in-one kit then that will probably okay. If you want to go cheaper you could still buy the dampers seperately and the springs somewhere else. You can get them for under 100 EUR already. https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/Typ/4050278015431.html

But I don't know how much posting to UK would be and if you don't want the hassle with two different dealers and shipping then just go for the B12 kit! You can compare prices at different dealers on the idealo page.

I bought a set of b8 fronts, set of eibachs and a pair of 205 tarmac Group N rears when i did mean but at the time there were no kits about,

Id say go for the kit tbh
