Does anyone who runs a gti 6 on track struggle with wheek bearings? My car seems to ruin the nsf wheel bearing on every trackday i do! Is it possible something else is wrong or is this just what there like? Cheers

quite likely a worn drive flange or poorly manufactured CV joint.

Probably not the issue but unbalanced wheels put an unneccessary strain on the bearings at higher speeds.

Are they being installed correctly?

I've seen a few people press bearings in via the middle race instead of the outer when pressing in to the hub.

As far as i know all the surrounding parts are ok, I specifically asked it to all be checked out the second time. They have been replaced by two separate mechanics due to timing issues for getting it to a trackday so i would expect it to be unlikely for them both to get it wrong

The best most mechanics are going to do is have a quick look over it before they slap the bearing in. Get some verniers or bore gauges and check the hub and the upright.

Gunna get it checked out more throughly this time, most likely to be the drive flange by the sound of it.
