Hi having issues with changing the cam belt on the v6 I've order a replacement belt kit and the garage say it's the wrong one something about mine having a auto tensioner and the kit having a manual one. They also say the cam belt doesn't need replacing has its been replaced recently has all the writing showing still on the belt. What do you guys think should I replace it and do I have the right can belt kit and the tensioners a revised item ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Depends on the belt and tensioner you've bought. All early stuff works together, all old stuff walks together. Peugeot, Citroën and Renault ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

You need the later pump but with the earlier larger diameter vane on it. (There's 3 pumps, early tensioner large vane, late tensioner large vane, late tensioner small vane).Or, just do what I did and chop the bit off the early pump that gets in the way of the late tensioner setup (since it's very difficult to get the early tensioner setup for reasonable money and the late one works fine and is simpler) ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Did one of these in a 406 coupe for the first time a while ago. Was surprised how many cats you could swing between the inner wing and the belt once it's stripped. ________________________________________ Black power baby! If you've already got the water pump all they need to do is chop off the bit where the big hole for the old tension fits, and the new one will go in then.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
