Alright all, just had delivery of a scorpion backbox off ebay (as my oem box is rattling its baffles off). I've measured the box and it seems the tip is about 2.5/3" longer!!! (oo er missus) Do these boxes really stick out that far?

Is this definitely a 306 gti backbox?

Also it has a number stamped on the bottom:

205-PG-29 38-02

I tried finding a scorpion catalog list but couldn't find anything.

Any info appreciated.

looks to me like the flared flange is shorter than OEM so the difference is probably accounted for there. The hangers def look like 306 fitment

Yeah that's the same exhaust tip length as mine. I'll just have to trial fit it and see how it goes.

Just don't want it sticking out as far as this one:

This looks bang on:

Both are scorpion boxes apparently.

When fitted mine is simular to the silver

The only thing that looks different is the flange diameter and its angle but could just be the pics

The red looks to have a modified exhaust perhaps through pipe instead of a cat at a guess

Yeah I noticed that as well. My flange seems to be a lot more central and less angled.

Ah well, lets see how it goes when I fit it on Saturday.

Managed to get a olive ring and had time to fit this afternoon. Fitment was pretty bang on. Just need to have a play with getting it more central, think I just need some different hangers to help pull and push it over a bit;

Pretty happy with how it sounds. A nice low tone when at idle but opens up when hooning it.
