Looks a very tidy car. Well thought out as others have said nicely spec'd. I've always been tempted by a 205gti6 on bodies or with a Rotrex on.

Don't know how you didn't like the Rotrex it drives like standard just a lot faster. The only thing missing is the induction roar which you can't beat! Only thing I miss on my car tbh.

i drove a rotrex car and it felt quite underwhelming, like a turbo car without the shove when the boost comes in.

Pretty much as welshpug said. Cant knock it as is a good conversion. One of the main things i didn't like was the fact everything is so rammed in the 205 bay so always a compromise with cooler etc so grantee i probably wasn't getting the full benefit - something the 306 doesn't suffer.

Its definitely quicker than standard and in strait line is probably a little quicker than my current set up for sure but not by alot. I just prefer the bodies just feels more alive on track

As a road car id probably of kept it and persevered but as a track car i needed bodies again lol

Finally got to drive round Combe. For some reason always wanted to go round Combe - probably as been to many shows and action days there. Little 205 done well preformed all day and hopefully beginning to get the hang of it - still along way of the pace it's capable of but that will come with practice and confidence I guess but either way had a good day and car came home with no issues all day

One thing I really am looking into now is the elec steering column as think could do with just a little assistance as with the quick rack it's fairly hard going after a day on track

Its 2hours from me but have only done a couple airfield days and 1 day at Mallory so combe is a different ball game all togehter + the fear of the dreaded quarry corner after seeing countless cars come off there makes you think a little more especially with the speed over the rise.

Getting the hang of it a little more but still not as quick as could be - I was on with a 205 1.4 rallye on monday on carbs etc and he was quicker than me purely thorough commitment in the corner and breaking so much later than me but thats only a good thing as want to grow with the car so plenty more fun to be had.

definitely steering, tyres and brakes on the list for future mods.

The only other thing that springs to mind is how loud the car is coming towards you with the bodies - was proably the loudest thing there as stood by the pit wall you can hear it coming out of old paddock before you can see it

I noticed this first time as well, you can hear it coming from some way away! At Rockingham it was compounded as the noise reverberated off the outer wall, sounded really cool Big grin

It does sound awesome but so loud lol I'd happily listen to it all day but was definitely one of the loudest cars on track if not the loudest.

I'm not a million miles from brands and Bedford but can't seem it being low enough to go there

I have to ask - what's with the massive rear view mirror? I fitted one of them for my wife's Gran to her i20, it felt like I needed my eyes testing just looking at it.

It's useful for racing. If your wing mirror gets knocked off / folded in, you can still see what's going on on that side of the car.

I ordered it as is cage mounted as my screen is heated so didn't fancy sticking it on there as hasn't got the mount bonded on as per a stock screen. Didn't look st the dimensions till it arrived gives a good view though lol

I like my qualify quick rack though also have the lightweight top mount set up waiting to go on as well just to loose a few more lbs up front. I've heard good things from a few people with the elec set up over on the 205 forum + a friend runs a power steering solutions set up on his escort and can't praise it enough.

I'll give it a go and if it doesn't work it'll be back to the drawing board but the fact it's adjustable is my main plus point as can hopefully be tailored to how I like it but time will tell I guess

Finally got round to fitting the elec steering column a few weeks back and managed a couple of sessions out at the forge action day. Initial thoughts are mixed. It's awesome round the paddock etc as can be set super light. On track I had a try at a few settings finding just the smallest assistance most preferred. Just takes a bit of getting used to as don't have to fight it anymore.

Other than that had a first drive in the proper wet on my first session in the morning which was interesting but still fairly predictable as had a couple of slides.

Had another go out in the dry which was a bit easier and managed to stick with/overtake a few bigger turbo hatches.

Decided now though I definitely need another set of wheels so I can run some dedicated track tyres but also keep the michellins incase it does rain.

So managed to pick up another cheap set of speedlines to go get powder coated and also a set of 4 pots that will fit under them so hopefully can brake later and corner harder

Custom lines arrived in Friday so got the brakes fitted albeit I'm sorting some washers to centralise the callipers a little as with the new pads there not quite right

All fit under a standard 1.9 speedline

Also had some new tyres turn up at work today. A new set on R888r,s which will be fitted to my freshly powder coated wheels end of the week when done.

Also looking to book the next outing ... May try setterton?

Any more photos of how you installed the dash? Starting to get ready to do mine over the winter.

Did you reuse your removable steering boss on the Corsa column?

My old one was welded onto the column so had to buy a new one. I went for a bolt on this time round though.

These are the only photos I have of the dash

I made a bracket that secures to the 2 bolts on the front of the gear-lever plate.
I also made 2 little Brackets with captive bolts one each side to secure the top of the dash. The bolts go through the bulkhead like the standard dash.
Literally 10 mins and it can be removed.

One thing I wish I had of done and will do over the winter is to put connectors in the wiring for my switches etc so I haven't got to remove the individual switches to get the dash out

Sounds good, I was thinking of doing something similar when mounting it. Been debating having some extras added to the cage, one would be a dash bar I could mount to.

I use a different bulkhead connector so easy for me to remove it Smile
