Thought I'd add a few pics of my ongoing project.
After selling my 306 rallye to partially fund a house deposit I decided I needed another project which I could spend time making to what I wanted but without breaking the bank as after all at the time I was saving to buy a house. So this time round rather than giving the car and a chunk of cash away I decided this time everything had to be done by me with cheap or 2nd hand parts (at least to begin with). Basically from then to now is around 2years.

After a little searching I cam across a 205 shell that as local to me that the previous owner had started to fit the 6 lump but lost interest as among many things the paint was shot with laquer peel taking over the bonnet and roof and also bits of rust on the front panel and wings . Either way for a few hundred £ I picked it up

Clearly first thing to do was rip everything out and repair rust with new front panel, wings and weld in repairs where needed





Then managed to pick up a multipoint weld in safety devices cage that ties into front turrets for £400 only issue was it came complete with a rotten shell. So removed from car and reinstalled in mine

Plenty of prep work and a make shift paint booth ready for its home brew respray in ford frozen white
With the idea being its a strait colour and easy to spray panels separately







Very happy with the outcome

After doing a couple of trackdays I had a brief fling with a rotrex set up





Before deciding it wasn't for me. After having bodies on the rallye I just missed the feel and noise from them so decided the charger had to go to fund what I really wanted

after picking up a set of cams with the intention of pocketing the original Pistons welshpugs engine with pocketed pistons and Newman phase 2 cams came up for sale so that was snapped up



Set of jenvey 45's, satchel inlet and omex management later

Decided didn't really like the original 205 dash and always had issues with it I opted for a digi dash and a fibreglass dash

Looking good. building a 205 gti6 at the has well at the moment is that a satchwell gear shift? Are you using the 6 speed box ?

It's a xsara vts box on there at min but have a 5 speed with 4.4 fd waiting to go in once I got the money to get a lightweight flywheel also. I did have a ab motorsport close ratio box with 4.4fd in also that I regret selling but I changed it as it only had around 115 top speed which was a little low but up to that point was by far best box I've ever driven.

Yes it's a satchshift which is one of my favourite bits on the car makes a huge difference. Also running a quaife quick rack and 3j plate diff

I'm on holiday in sept so won't be able to I'm afraid. At the min it's all about trying to drive it as car is fa more capable than me lol

Is the satchwell for the 205 and would it work with a 6 speed do you know ?

Yes it's for a 205 so direct fit.

I believe they do a lift up colar for reverse option definitely well worth it though

Yeah wanted one for the 306 but it wouldn't fit now. Who stocks them?

Thanks. Yeah if your Oxford based possibly was by the fishing lakes in thame. I rented it for around a year as a guy from work lived there. Unfortunately though he moved a year or so ago so had to give it up. Shame as wouldn't of been able to do half of what I had without the space.

As for the gear lever I guess either kam racing or satchell direct I got mine 2nd hand though

yes kam racing stock the shifters and the lift up reverse collar.

i think the bonnet might be a magnum motorsport one.

Yeah really pleased with it just makes the interior look a bit more modern + trying to cut the plastic of the original dash I couldn't get it tidy enough for my liking. Also with the standard clocked the speedo cable exited right against my cage so that never sat flush so was the best all round solution.

I do need to move the bottom piece over s little as the gear lever is caching slightly into 2nd but not a great stress.

Did you cut holes for the switches etc. before getting it flocked?
