Hi all,

Just joined the forum having bought my first 306 gti-6 almost 2 weeks ago. I bought it to replace a Golf R lease car that goes back soon. A tough act to follow but the 306 that is worth less than 10% of the golf is more than holding its own. I love it. They say never meet your heroes, but this hero is living up to expectations.

Aside from the 306 I have a clio 172, a mk1 mr2 race car (#88 hence the user name) and a 205 gti race car (not yet raced). With the exception of the mr2 there is a definite French hatch theme to my cars.

Anyway just wanted to say hi! In a long winded way!

Cheers

Rob

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I'm replying from my phone at work and only have one photo on it, which I've just uploaded to photobucket. Hopefully I can link it in properly.

It looks better in the pic, but overall it is in quite good condition. It's had an air con delete and got an induction kit on it. That's all I know of, but it does perform very strongly.

The last few seasons I've been in TARC's MR2 series. When the 205 is finished (very soon) I'll be out in the tricolour trophy. This year has been a slow start for me due to a new baby, but will make it out in in one of the cars in June at rockingham.

Sounds good! I'm tempted to do the Tricolore race at Cadwell near the end of the year, depends if funds allow

Hopefully no modding! I did think about cams and a remap, but I really will try and resist. I've done. A few things to my Clio so I'll probably stick to modding that. Maybe...

I really need to get the 205 finished first as well. Then change loads on it!

Here's the MR2 in its original colour scheme:

Photo was taken at Mallory. I collected a cone on the first lap! Crowd seemed to appreciate the unicorn car.

Here it is in its current colours:

The car is a bit like triggers broom. I doubt there is anything left of the original car I bought.

I haven't any photos of the 205, but in all honesty it looks like a faded red 205! It won't get painted until the end of the year. I had thought of a classic Porsche colour scheme, either red and whit or purple and green, but I think I might go for something simpler now (cheaper)! Lime green, orange or baby blue.
