I believe you could but it would involve changing the throttle position and boost pipe runs and having the car remapped by Chip wizards as Wayne has now worked out a way of making the ecu see boost!Probably cost you 1.5k maybe cheaper if you had a standalone ecu you could use ________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

I want to get a stand alone ecu. Is it needed on a low boost? They recirculate anyway so you don't get the noise if that's what you are after?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Bov £140 to suit supercharged. Pipe work changes press throttle body of supercharger£80 have inlet modified to suit throttle body on inlet rather than on supercharger £80 pipe work changes £100. Adjust wiring to suit new throttle body location £25 remap ecu £500 standalone ecu £500 quite easy to see £1500. To be fair if you did it all yourself could possibly get it all done for £850. I was quoting getting somebody to do it for you You're changing a lot of the setup to add a Bov as at the moment it's a draw through setup and you would be changing it to a blow through ! ________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Yup as Ross says you would have to change an awful lot to make it work like that all for a TSSSHHHH noise.... you could buy one of those crappy Chinese speakers that has a switch on the throttle pedal that plays the TSHHHH noise every time you let your foot off out of a little speaker if it makes you feel better? The aftermarket management means you could map more accurately with boost etc and potentially get more power but they are proven reliable at the power they currently make and a very smooth map for a generic one so not worth the effort IMO. ________________________________________ Black power baby! so to revive this..... Mind me asking why you're going to all that effort and expense?Mine is a blow through setup on mine, which i quite like but it feels a bit savage even at low power, with small amounts of throttle open so the dump valve is open and venting there isnt a lot of power there, if you press the throttle a bit more and its enough for the dump valve to close and get some boost it can be a bit much power trying to get to the wheels if you know what i mean. I havent driven a LBSC car but i'd imagine a draw through setup might be a bit more linear with its power delivery. its worth adding dump valves that are springed for turbo applications will behave all wrong on a supercharged setup. The springs in a turbo dv are to heavy and will shut far to early giving a pulsy feel on part throttle. My tial 50mm bov has a 2psi spring in designed for blowers makes the throttle response much nice just like a n/a engine. ________________________________________ 1990 205 gti6 supercharged |

Yeah, should have said, i'm running the same dump valve as you with a 2psi spring. I'd say the throttle response isnt bad but on mine it's definitely not as linear as n/a or probably a rotrex setup. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Thread is no longer about dump valve I am thinking of not installing a dump valve and leaving it as a pull through I want to add stand alone management onlyAsh.... Why are you wanting standalone?It soon gets very expensive if you take this route for almost no gains, my ecu was ~£600, i chucked around £300 at all the connectors and wiring to make my own loom then theres the cost of mapping on top, and the inconvenience of having to get the car to the mappers on a base map or towing it there. I can see the desire for standalone if you have future plans for modifications so want small tweaks doing to the map which would be much cheaper than trying to get a session booked with wayne, but it doesnt sound like you want to do much more to the engine? ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Because the kit rich made is great but all engines are slightly different and the map is a universal map but if I had a stand alone ecu I could have the map tweek es perfectly.
