Hi, I've got Ash's old high boost engine out of his race car for sale, originally planned to go high boost in my own car, alas plans have changed. Hasn't been used since I've bought it so it's exactly the same spec as what it was in his ad.

"Proven* 408BHP XU10J4RS complete engine with Wossner Pistons, PEC H section rods, cam timing adjusted. Estimated sub 1000 race miles only, no smoke or problems known."

After £800 collected ideally for a quick sale but open to genuine offers. Would prefer not to pallet it up incase it got damaged but I will consider if it isn't gone quickly Thumbs up

Feel free to pm or ask any questions I'll try my best to answer them asap.

If that engine is indeed running 8:1 compression then it will be for a super high boost application, using the C38 series of supercharger as opposed to the C30 series.

When Ash was racing, he was using a C38 charger so I'd say that engine is definitely for super high boost. Yes

High boost applications run with 9:1 compression. Thumbs up

Thanks for the info Stan, makes sense as he was trying to sell it with the C38 and everything to go with it originally as a package. Thumbs up

I thought the high boost setup also use an 8 compression ratio as I´m building a HB setup using a 8.2:1 CR forged engine Unsure I was a bit concerned when I first saw Stan saying with uses a 9:1 but then I went to Lynx Garages´s SC Guideline and its said that "(for High Boost C30) we recommend a compression ratio of 8.0:1 –
8.5:1 if you intend to run the charger at maximum duty and reach a peak boost of 18-20 PSI."

Does anyone know more about this? My setup is almost done and I was always thinking the HB were 8CR!

This has been discussed before if you read the full lynx installation manual.

armzs16 wrote:
I have read the fitting guide and it does indeed say 8.0-8.5 :1 comp ratio.

From another thread in 2013 discussing comp ratios of high boost as stated in the manual. Ash was using this with a C38 making 400bhp but it could be used with a C30 but presumably make less power low down due to lower comp ratio.

I have pistons and rods I still havnt used that are 8.5:1 ratio and rich said to me that should still work fine even with generic high boost map. Using 8.0 would need custom mapping by Wayne though I'd imagine.
