or play it safe jack the front up as high as i can, try and not lose to much oil and put the fresh filter on.

Should've waited tbh if you still not back on the road anyway. If you have not started the engine since oil change you should not lose any really if a dribble I'm sure________________________________________ cherry rallye daily (the money pit) |

If you havent run it, just change the filter, the only oil you should lose is any thats left in the filter. ________________________________________ Team Running Engine again!Team Negative Camber! My Budget track engine build thread! Now appearing at a Trackday near you!! |

Castrol edge 5w40 fully synthetic, i think i should have gone 5W30 as we are just going into summer.did the transmission fluid with CASTROL MANUAL VMX-M 75W-85, just from my little drive this morning feels amazing. from just looking it up they do a fully synthetic equivalent of that transmission fluid, "CASTROL SYNTRANS 75W-85" i put a liqui-moly engine flush through it before the change, and will be running an injector cleaner through the fuel once i am back on the road, (new fuel filter before or after this?) |

I don't know what the factory spec is on your car, but I wouldn't go 5W30, the GTI-6 factory spec is 10w40 semi-synth or 5W40 full synth and your engine should be similar. I'd stick with the factory spec, and on an engine that is 15 years/150K km old in a hot climate like Oz could even go a little thicker (5W50 or 10W50), but not thinner. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
