I've been having a look at tyres and just can't make up my mind what to get. I was really after some Michelin PE2's, but nowhere sells them now in 195/55. I'm not too bothered about price, just looking for a good all round tyre - mainly decent grip really. Will be going onto cyclones and needs to be the 55 profile. What's everyone running and how do you rate them? Fire away... Thanks |

Michelin PS3s seem to be the newer alternative to PE2s and are very highly rated on here.________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

One way to look at it is a gti-6 needs tyre grip to be optimum on cold wet mornings.Under most other conditions grip is not the issue. The best stopping distance will come down to the tyre which can add that little bit more help on the rears (in the wet and in the cold) ... this requires a forgiving sidewall with A rated wet grip (only 200Kg goes through each of the rear tyres vs 400kg on the fronts). my last 3 sets of tyres were potenza SO2's all round , SO2's front/PE2's rear , currently Michelin PE'2's all round. my next set will be ... michelin energy saver plus ![]() I think they will provide a better grip on the rear when it matters - on the apex of a cold wet uneven B Road. Just don't expect them to work well in the first 500 miles or in snow. |

And at a mere £55 for the top end michilin tires it's worth dropping the profile. You save a small fortune.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

I found the conti contisport contact 5's very good on my BMW, bit bigger though, got part worn PS3 on the ZX, very impressed so far, just not a patch on an AD08 for grip I found when following AdamB!________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Probably better off with pilot supersports on that, a shame they dont do them small enough for older hot hatches!________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Just don't expect them to work well in the first 500 miles or in snow. If you want good wet grip get Uniroyal Rainsport 3s. They're obviously not as good as premium tyres in the dry, but they're absolutely fantastic in the wet and the snow. They're also 35 a corner in 50 profile. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

AD08R are bloody brilliant everywhere except mud. Very good in the wet and just superb in the dry. Hard compound so they last too. Just bought another two for mine at 47+vat each 50 profile ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

At combe sprint in the wet I was 4.5s ahead of two R35s running 888s. As soon as a dry line appeared they were beating me by 2-3s. I'm massively impressed by these tyres and I've used a lot ![]() ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

So are AD08R's a decent all round tyre? Seems to be the best tyre in 55 profile I can find. |

If you want to drive your car all year and mostly on the road then go for PS3's. The only better true road tyre I have had over these were ContiSportContact 5's, but they don't do them in our size.Just to add that I would never fit a tyre with less than an A wet rating after a bad experience with a lesser tyre at the Ring.
