I've only ever laminated carbon over existing parts
But that has its drawbacks

So been attempting to make moulds and wet lay the carbon in there
I'm getting the odd small air pockets
But getting closer!

Need to the learn infusion process!



I've made some gear knob insearts but have
Various imperfections
And petrol disc trims again odd imperfections and some trapped air pockets

Very nice!

I've dabbled in this and it's pretty tricky! Materials are expensive as well so repeated mistakes while experimenting and getting it right does actually cost a fair bit unlike working with some other materials.

Spooks have a ph1 a ph2/3 bonnet (I've asked which one) and a boot lid!

I'm having problems getting the carbon into tight corners without air pockets
that maybe one for an infusion mould

Which isn't a cheap process to learn! Dry

spook want mega money for there moulds , take it you are using paddle rollers to get rid of air pockets , you can buy a single blade roller for getting in corners ,

Yeah they want £285 per mould they do have make an offer so reckon they'd take £250
Which to be honest I'd pay if it's a good mould ph3 and de-badged which it could well be!

Yeah I do have one of those paddle bubble poppers but it only works over large flat surface and not so good In tight corners

I'm having problems with the fuel cap trims picking up air pockets at the edges so just using a sticking technique
Which gets most of them but always the odd few get through and a heat gun or hair dryer dont do anything either
Maybe a different type of resin is needed to work better

But like said before this is an expencive learning curve!

no good using heat will create bubbles , you need the single blade roller for tight bits , will try and add photo off it , when doing large panels you need them to go off as slow as possible or they will distort , have phase 1 and phase 2/3 bonnet moulds here that might become available

Before you make the ph.1 mold available you'll have to check it works by making a ph.1 bonnet for me. Laugh my ass off

I do a bit of fibreglassing/carbon for the Skyline. I get bubbles in the resin to from time to time..... really random. Can't figure out why.

Still, parts come out fine. Might get a vacuum pump and go vacuum-bagging!!!! (sounds wrong LOL)

sorry mate , haven't had chance yet , but sell them on ebay , under listing resin roller , corner /radius roller

That's looks brilliant.

Nail Varnish for the numbers to match the colour of car and it would look really good (in my less than esteemed opinion!)
