Anyone use a gopro in their 306? I have just got one today to use on track days and B road runs ect... where do people have theirs mounted for best views? Dont really want to stick it on my windscreen and I dont have a roll cage to mount it to just yet so just asking to see where you woyld think would be the best position for it?

Clamp mount to the seat? Go on ebay and find something that suits. Some awesome stuff available.

Couldnt find anywhere decent to mount it so just went with the windscreen under the rear view mirror. Its not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

My point still stands, clamp/strap mounts work great on bucket seats. I'll dig some info. Smile

Literally just type in "strap mount" & "clamp mount" to Google images for ideas. I strapped/clamped my camera between the belt holes of the passenger bucket seat.

Another favourite company i use is Ram mounts. Pretty much a solution for everything, and specialise in ball and socket mounts.

Yeah windscreen is fine, looks good. I just assumed you wanted an internal, BTCC style view.

I did want more internal but not behind the seat as you can never usually see the car in front because the rear view mirror is in the way. I did try it on the dash above tge facia but it was quite annoying.

yeah I have seen that truck once or twice now but ni idea where it is from. Thought it would be a good demo photo for view from my ho pro Cool

You won't be allowed on track with it there sadly (no suction mounts...) unless tethered to say the mirror if they deem that solid

I still currently have a sunroof in mine (till the cage goes in) so I've always used a suction clamp on the sunroof gives a great view and a decent amount of sounds too Big grin

Croft allows the go pro mount as its not a suction mount, there a stick on and are pretty solid as race cars use the same mounts stuck on the exterior of the cars

No trackday I've been on allows a suction mount, you can get a cage mount for not a lot of monies, they pretty much bolt anywhere you have a tube to clamp it too, il try find a link to the one I bought...

Don't see why not of their strong enough. The one I use is hard to come by but is a proper go-pro suction clamp. Takes a lot of effort to even clamp the thing on and the surface area is massive in comparison to most.

We've had it on the outside of cars well over 100mph at Santa pod with no problems. You couldn't possibly pull it off If you tried.

I've no problems with sticky mounts, obviously cage ones are fine as well.

I'm pretty certain MSVT allow suction mounts and Javelin allow them so long as they are behind the driver.

I don't think javelin allow suction mounts, Trackaction don't allow them, can't remember bout MSV. And I'm fairly sure circuit days don't.... As for 'sticky mounts' I'm not sure as I've never really heard of them. Contact the trackday operators to be sure is the best course of action I'd say. Thumbs up

I was on a Javelin day on Monday and they said it was ok for suction mounts behind the driver. MSV recently changed their regs to allow them I think.

That is a very recent change then, certainly in feb they (javelin) were testing rigidity of even he fixed mounts...

I'm out with MSV in October so I'll see what they say to my mate who uses one...

Was on a javeling track day on sunday with go pro sticky mount stuck on the middle of the dash and never had a problem, no one said anything and marshals stood and watched my turn the camera on before going on track
