There is one for £2500 on gumtree. Has had a recent full respray but that could be a good or bad thing.

Considering there were only 200 16 years ago, when they come up they often go quickly as they appear to be sought after in white. When you find one, you will need to be quick. There aren't going to be 2 dozen for sale at any one time for you to pick and choose from unfortunately so it will be a waiting game.

A good GTi6 is hard enough to come by, with thousands still remaining.

Took me over 3 months of looking to find a red Rallye that was up to my standards. Even them, the one I ended up buying wasn't strictly for sale and came about through me posting a wanted post like this.

Problem you've got is as described by Dan. Never many to start with, low mileage ones will be pretty hard to come by and a large number of them have been modified from std. Finding some of the parts specific to a rallye (Seats, door cards, centre console fascia etc) is becoming very difficult. Something worth considering when buying one.

The one on Gumtree whilst having had paint, is a pretty good example. I believe it had damage to the drivers door lock which precipitated the painting....

Won't be long before all these need paint I wouldn't let that put u off! I echo what the other r oust are saying though you won't have the luxury of being choosey, there just simply ain't many left and white seems to have overtaken black in the sort after stakes.

Will be great to have another local Rallye tho, we should have a meet if ben_w ever finishes hisLOL

I'm tempted by a red one, watched that one on eBay not fetch £700. Didn't meet reserve.

I believe the white will be popular due to modern gti's being white.

I looked at the one on gumtree/Facebook and it's a dog. £1100 car

Not a lot to be honest.

    1. Scopion Exhaust melting the rear bumper.
    2. Exhaust blowing.
    3. Radiator temperature switch bypassed to cabin with on/off switch.
    4. Chassis legs near wishbones been resealed to hide issues.
    5. Inside bonnet either side under battery been again resealed and painted to hide rust, Although you can see through it.
    6. Different lock on drivers door.
    7. Questionable history, He had a write up of all things done but receipts say different. E.g Full cambelt = Receipt for cambelt only.
    8. Slight tapper.
    9. Gear linkages need replacing.
    10. Clutch not right, To low and no a lot of bite just on/off
    11. Wheels be repainted but faces only
    12. Can't remember much more.

A £1000 car to me, yes it's had some re paint but for the efforts done a little more might have made it special.
