Mate I've got 16 years fabrication/ welding behind me. I have welded everything from tin foil to Ocean going tanker hulls. I am very confident I could do it but I am also aware that it's not a job taken lightly unless you have access to a workshop with the right tools. But fair play to you if your going to give it a go. Hope your a patient man. ________________________________________ ***Breaking*** Ph3 Silver GTI 6 High Boost |

I totaled up 56 hours of hacksawing, grinding, filing and tacking, to get my manifold done, plus the time it took a friend of mine to weld it all together. It can be done, be patient!. |

Can you get Pistons for the v6 or would you be able to use decompression plates. Have you though about maybe buthchering a orginal manifold it might help you with some of the parts and bends ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

original manifolds are cast, so a no go there.anything is possible regarding the pistons, just supply a drawing to a company that makes pistons! DP engineering made 317 bhp on stock engine for 6 years now. you introduce many complications if you use decompression plates, your inlet manifold wont fit for a start! ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

never seen one up close but DP-Engineering have that manifold pictured in a 406.main costs are the time to make the manifold and the turbo itself, and an ecu to run it, specifically converting to a V6 doesn't cost that much if you diy it. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Why are you getting pipe from the states? Is it that much cheaper? ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

I have no experience with v6 engines but could you not use the original manifolds and send the down pipes to a remotely mounted turbo? The one pictured appears to do that or an I missing something? ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

it could be done very easily yes, I think its just that the standard D8 manifolds are perceived to be a bit restrictive, but they clamp to some easily adaptable V-band style clamps before joining the link pipe then the downpipe itself.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Could be a simple cheap solution for a low pressure setup using standard compression......________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

That's what I was wondering wether the engine would be ok with just a sensible amount of boost using its standard internals ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

As welshpug has already mentioned DP have been running the 406 that way for a while now. And let's face it, if it did go pop engines are hardly expensive to replace! ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

not sure how much boost/air they are running through it, but to last that long and make 120 bhp over stock is good going, its about 55% increase, which is just about exactly what the low boost gti6's are over standard.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

This was more to see what power I can get at high pressure so the compression needs to be lowered, am aiming for a minimum of 400 hp.....I'm sure it can be done at low pressure much easier and I did consider doing this but I like to complicate things :-/ ________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |
