Anyone around Leeds/wakefield area with a 6/Rallye fancy doing me a favour? Basically I need to borrow an ICV off a fully functioning car to prove whether or not mine is goosed. I'll need it for a maximum half hour just to prove whether it's the fault. Unfortunately my car is non road legal due to just being for trackdays so if you could come to me that would be helpful, couple of beers in it for whoever can help! Thanks in advance! Thumbs up

Shame your so far away i have a working one here you could have tried. Can you not just try running your car and either block or unplug it to see if anything changes?

if its knackered and its running and you unplug it and theres no difference then its knackered. if you jnplug it when its running and it dies instantly then theres a good chance it proves its fecked or not working as well as it should be. more of a test for the ignition amp but might work on the icv. general lee not about???

Drove though Leeds earlier, if I had seen this I would have lent you mine.

The car will run fine with the icv disconnected once warm.
My old escort gti ran with it disconnected for 18 months. Stalls lots until warm but its fine after.

Take yours out and leave it over night soaking in carb or brake cleaner normally sorts them out.
