Picked up a T plate Silver GTI6 the other day, done 126k and has been parked up for quite a while and then had the window put through so the owner had enough of it and sold it to me!

Undecided what to do with it, not sure if its worth repairing, getting it mot'd and selling or whether it should be pulled apart.

To make it tidy it needs:
a Front bumper
lockset as they have had a go at the drivers door lock
o/s/f arch liner
pair of check straps
a bit of tlc on the interior
n/s/r light lens as has a slight crack
Drivers door glass
Not convinced about the rear beam as I'm sure it is lowered a bit but think the beam may be seized as there is literally no movement in it!

Not sure what to do!

Mileage 126k, History apparently quite alot just waiting for it. I know it's had cambelt waterpump and a nissens rad in the last 10k as my mate did it.

Unsure on state of chassis as haven't got it on the ramp yet. Bodywork is good except front bumper, scuff on the rear bumper other than that pretty good!

Probably only worth £700ish with 12 months ticket though isn't it?!

They seem to be demand again atm. Clean it up, chuck a ticket on it and see what it sells for. Should get 700-800 for it.

Was this the one on eBay?

I had a seized rear beam once that had literally no movement, turned out both shocks were seized and the beam was fine.

If it's viable save it? Stick it on trader as a runner with good history and you could see 1k for it, quite easy to forget that forum price isn't market price Yes

Well had a proper look over it tonight and put a new glass in the drivers door to keep it secure/watertight.
Beam appears seized, drives alright, except for a being a bit bouncy! seems to pull well and doesn't smoke/rattle/tap, has a power flow cat back exhaust and a an open filter with a really s**t attempt at some sort of cold air feed! Would possibly need one bit of welding for mot and a good drive beforehand to clean brakes up etc, no real play in anything suspension wise.
Ideally wants a pair of front tyres although they would only be an advisory.
Have advertised it on a Facebook page to see if there's any interest on there if not I'll decide its fate from there!

Im a fan of silver. Would be a shame to break such a standard looking example. If you want to sell it, take some better pictures!

Would have to be £350 as it stands. If I can get a beam local and cheap I'll save it, local scrappy has a front bumper in silver for 35 so that would be body work sorted then would only need a bit of time spent on it doing a few other bits!

Well, Its definitely getting saved. Have got a decent beam, pair of standard shocks and springs, an O/S/F arch liner, a rear light and a few other bits in the back of my van for £100! Only 20 minutes away aswell! Should be done within the next week or so.

Only thing I need is a pair of check straps for the doors, don't really want to pay new prices at roughly £25 a side! Anyone know of a cheaper place to get them?

Might be worth dropping pug_306 a PM - he's probably got hundreds of the things. Great guy to deal with too - recently bought an engine bay loom off him and arrived very quickly and well packaged.

Should add I'm not affiliated in any way, but merely giving praise where it's due.

Nearly there with this one now, beam is changed, window properly fitted and a few other bits and pieces done.
Got the rest of the history for it this morning and found a few things of interest. Mainly at 61224 miles on 10/03/04 it snapped a belt, was repaired at a peugeot dealer and had fitted what I assume would be a brand new engine, Total bill was £3189.57!!
Part number for the engine was X P00000139Y6 XP and is described as 009099/S/E PET ENGINE. If that was the case that means that the engine has only covered about 64k which I guess should be a good selling point.
Also found a receipt for it being 'superchipped'

What does it say on the logbook, if its had a new engine depending on the owner and with it being done it peugeot they could have changed the engine code on there too. Bargain if its only cost you £300 or so, should have yourself a good GTi6 once you get it sorted Thumbs up
