Seem to have a exhaust mani blow but I can't find it. Didn't think it was a common thing for the manifold to head joint to blow.

Either that or the manifold has cracked.

Car sounds like a poxy Scooby. Thought it was misfiring at first but narrowed it down to the exhaust.

Never taken the exhaust manifold off. How much of a c**t is it?

Have you checked the cat to manifold area? My cat decided to part company from the manifold, and the internal gasket ring was also shot. It's not a terrible job to do, but having access to a ramp makes life easier. Cat to manifold kit was available from Toomey Peugeot in Laindon (I see you're in Benfleet) and comes with everything you need (if it is this at fault of course).

I have changed them more times than I care to remember in my 10 years of gti6 owner ship LOL

At one point I had to change it every 3 weeks due to a crap exhaust and engine mounts.

Got it down to 15 mins on the floor.

Anyways back on point, no I've changed that. First thing I did.

Wouldn't say it's common Ben but have heard of it on these before. Considering your running boost so the manifold will get hotter too it's not surprising really.

I've only ever changed mine with the engine out but I presume their isn't room to pull it out underneath.... It's either gotta be drop the engine off all the mounts and pull it forward to get it out or subframe and rack off and should come out fine.

Someone must have done it on here though surely....

While it's out well worth heat wrapping the new one. Makes a huge difference to engine bay temps.

As above, drop the subframe off and it isn't that bad a job tbh
