Guys,

What was the factory finish on the rear spoiler above the rear window on a Rallye. Looks like some odd rubberised/plasticy coating as mine is faded and patchy.....I assume they weren't painted?

Any ideas on bringing them back or is it a case of time for a new one? They are NLA apparently from pug...

Yeah like you say it was almost like a black rubberised plastic.
Ive seen halfords rubberised paint used to good effect on them. Personally, i had mine done the same colour as my car and think it looks much better than plain black

you could stonechip the spoiler instead of painting it. it's rubberised and lasts forever

Thanks guys.

Some good suggestions there, I'll look at the plastidip, that sounds interesting.

Rikky, any particular brand of stone chip you used?

    Is it this one?

    http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repairs/car-rust-removal-treatment/hammerite-stonechip-shield-black-600ml

Not a yellow tin, but yellow text. I know how accurate Rikky is, so presume it could be the one.

Ben_W have you ever done this stonechip paint or the plastidip? Looking for a solution on mine as its seriously getting brighter and brighter..

also, an other question, can the spoiler be removed easily or its better if I just cover it all around and do it as it is?

I sprayed stonechip on a severely pitted spoiler the other day as a test in the hope it would spray thick enough to fill the pits.

    It didn't.

But I do have a lovely black spoiler which from a distance doesn't look too bad.
