One car being broken can keep a lot of others going though.

    Not really

Most bits will end up in the bin

I'd rather see these cars saved but the problem is a lot of gti6s are well past saving Thumbs down

A lot of them have been broken for the engines though, take a look at the numbers https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/peugeot_205_gti

The 6 and rallye were the last decent gti peugeot did. They dropped off in price and a lot were abused and scrapped or broken. Now they are in proper decline. Shame really

It is mad that they only sold 5k between the GTi6 and Rallye.

Why have so many died aswell? They have always been loved as a hot hatch, with great reviews all round. They were expensive at the time but the price has dropped off in the past few years.

When will the price start to go back up on these? Mine never will but some of the restored ones on here are amazing! Will they ever become a collectable car?

Thought i would bump up this thread. How accurate actually is this site? Looks to me like the GTi6 is the rare one and not the rallye.

Wow, are they really that rare now? I think I have one of the last gti's made but not sure. It was registered in March 2001.

Does anyone know the last date of registration for the gti?

That graph is for phase 1 only, as Dan says, there are still many more.
