Hi Guys, thought i'd start a thread for my Rallye. Plans for it at the moment are to tidy it up and make it a bit more presentable.
At the moment the bonnet needs re-painted due to it been badly scratched. Hoping a good detail will bring the paint back to being red again, as the skirts and tailgate are going pink.
Drivers seat neeeds the tear it in sorted.

Don't really plan to modify it, will keep it as a standard Rallye i think.

Looks good buddy but you won't get them side skirts back to former glory with a buff , I had to paint all my plastic bits on my rallye as they all went pink and faded

    Looks good Thumbs up

There are a few red Rallyes for sale at the moment, I'm so tempted but really can't justify the purchase.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, look forward to the updates.

Nfrom memory at the mot it wasnt too bad underneath.the odd wee spot of rust has been sorted alreafy.
Also forgot that since ive had it, ive changed the drivers offside caliper due to the old one sticking.changed the thermostat.going into the garage tomorrow to get a new rear brake pipe fitted.
Also it will soon need a new backbox as the current one is pretty rusty

Good to see another thread on a Rallye. The wheelarches shouldn't be too bad, the panels are galvanised so it should be the oxidisation of the zinc coating that is peeling the paint rather than the orange stuff. I sanded my arches back, zinc primed them and overcoated that with red enamel and lacquer. Still looks good after two years.

The skirts are not lacquered so can be polished back a bit to make them more red, but the paint is thin, The paint elsewhere is lacquered and you can't get the colour back by polishing. One of the occupational hazards of bright red paint! I've had paintwork needed on mine since I got it, but have concentrated on the underneath and suspension etc so haven't got around to it.

Great car the Rallye, puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

If the backbox is rusty you can tidy it up a bit by wire-wheeling, sanding, blocking pinholes with exhaust paste and then painting it with silver high-temp paint.

It won't stop it rusting from the inside due to the water, but it will make it look an awful lot better and it plugs the holes in the short term.

Got my scorpion back box fitted at the weekend, along with a new standard centre section due to the previous being rusty with a hole in it.

Just need to adjust the rubbers to stop the pipe hitting the axle when i take my foot of the accelerator. Will get some pics up soon

Looking good! The guy you bought the Rallye off (Lee) is my brother in law. I now own a standard red Rallye too and it's made him miss this one so much! Glad to see she's being looked after.

Still have the car. It has been sorned this year due to me being away with work. Hopefully over the Christmas holidays I will get back into it. Give it a service and sort out any issues that have appeared since it last ran.
