What's the reason behind making the inner carbon and the outer grp? Wish I had the moulds to make my own bits, would work out so much cheaper, good job buddy |

Wish I had the moulds to make my own bits, would work out so much cheaper, good job buddy hi m8 , good question ,I think a lot of people might be thinking same , don't want any carbon fibre on show on outside as keeping car white , it does look fantastic on certain cars but not the affect I am looking for , hatch was made with just 1 layer off matting and 1 layer of carbon for weight purposes so really light ,done carbon inner as just looks better than matting in inside , do not mean to be disrespect anyone who has carbon panels outers as yours looks fantastic , but my car is a out and out track toy wich will just get totally abused to within its life ,thanks wayne ________________________________________ wayne mcardle |

It's ok mate I didn't take offense, when painting carbon or grp you will never get the same colour as painting on metal which is one of the reasons I didn't have them painted and also I love the look with bare carbon through the middle of the car, as you said it's all down to personal taste.Just thought a carbon outer skin painted would still weight less than a bare grp with white gel coat finish? |

Just thought a carbon outer skin painted would still weight less than a bare grp with white gel coat finish? would not just get away with just one layer of carbon as would just crack ,need 2 layer minimum , put gel coat on mega thin , normally meant to be 1mm thick but mines nowhere near that due to weight ,have just pulled inner door frame from mould so will post photos on forum and youll see how thin gel coat is on that , thanks wayne ________________________________________ wayne mcardle |
