Hi guy's, got a bit of a problem. In trying to remove the front flexi hose, the nut that joins to the hard line has rounded off. I soaked it in penetrating oil and wire brushed the hell out of it for the past two weeks! I first tried a proper brake spanner, then mole grips and now it's f'd. I haven't twisted the brake line though, not sure what to do now, really don't want to have to replace the whole line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Is it a front line? If so they join just up inside the chassis leg if you follow it under/see from underneath they are short then join the main lines!________________________________________ cherry rallye daily (the money pit) |

Yeah it's the front line drivers side the bit where the arched bracket thingy is, so i should hopefully just have to replace a short length of brake line? If so can i get it pre-formed from peugeot? Sorry for the newbie questions, this is my first time doing this! Thanks |

Im not sure about pre formed. If you ask a local garage they probably have the right stuff just to knock it up quick or if you have a brake pipe flarer you can do yourself so easy,I had to do when I fitted ross's massive brembos as he had same problem!! Very easy fix dont panic!!________________________________________ cherry rallye daily (the money pit) |

Just had a look and followed the brake line up and there's a join in the engine bay, do i just remove it from the join in the engine bay and cut it off by the flexi hose join? Then take it to a garage and get a new one made up to the same length? Thanks again. |

Yep exactly that, maybe make just a few mm longer to compensate where you cut it but any garage should be able to knock it up if you take it with you.________________________________________ cherry rallye daily (the money pit) |

Nice one thank you! Now to see if the other side will come off. I only wanted to change the discs and pads and have ended up replacing and rebuilding the calipers, new flexi hoses and noticed there's a split in the driveshaft boot! Oh well, it'll be worth it. |

When I did mine I used a set of small stillson's, 8" I think I used, they are awesome for any rounded off nuts. You can get a set on Ebay for about a tenner and they always have a use. ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! I'll give it a try on the other side I thought the mole grips would do it but they just chewed the nut! |

I had this problem 2 years ago, i had to cut out from the metal hos side,so i had to replace all the line to the pump end, then i couldn't insert the new line, it's path was too twisty so i had an idea, went to a hose shop and asked them to cut the metal hose to 3 parts, flare it and install the adapters, after that is was easy to connect the parts. old new zoom out ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |

If you can get the brake line with the much more sturdier 14mm nut (instead of the 13mm)it won't round off so easily. ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |
