Arm. Couldn't see the hook being much use.

Placed selotape on one side to remind myself which arm to hold it by.

Just been getting my girlfriend to wipe Wink

Cat C write off - valued at £1300 and £150 salvage.

They've described the condition as average... does anyone know the scale here?

Excellent, Good, Average, Poor?? Anyone know the breakdown as in "Good = a few stone chips, no rust" and "Average = Stone chips and general parking marks etc"

Also, there's an inspection fee of £60... which it looks like we have to pay... but I'm not prepared to pay it

Don't see why you should have to pay a penny to be honest? I didn't have to pay a thing and mine was my fault, so you certainly shouldn't!

    I believe so.

It can be driven again, providing its salvaged and has the necessary repairs done properly and as long as the insurance company know its Cat-C (which they should LOL) But only then.

Edit: Here's some gubbins explaining the categories.

Okay their insurance say 1300 and 150 buy back with the car being used until MOT time. Her insurer valued at 1400 and 87 buy back but the car would no longer be able to be used.

just checked my insurance assessment form from when my 6 was inspected. value = £1400, salvage value (buy back) = £0.00 LOL

mine was Cat C OSF corner impact, needed wing / headlight / bonnet / bumper and the chassis jigging. did it all myself about 5 months after the crash and didn't get it VIC'd until the MOT was due about another 3 months after this

i was never happy with it after that, it didn't feel the same. i broke it and kept the engine for my 205
