whats the easiest way to change a oil filter on a xsi so little room to reach or gain access to it .

on th plus i towed a mitsubishi gto up a hill with little hesitation or wheel spin and yes my clutchis still good lol

easier said than done or the old trick with a long screwdriver through the middle

I have these which do the trick.

Plus they work well on the brake calipers for pushing the piston back.

ok cool its just that stupid plastic manifold leaves very little room to get these type of pliers to gain access

I find this tool to be the easiest to use as you can tighten it right up even with limited space and it clamps the filter nicely when tight, also capable of removing a large range of sizes.

A bit pricey, but it works well.

Also, what the others said, go from the bottom....if you're doing an oil change you need to be under the car to remove the sump plug anyway...

I used to use a socket strap when i did such things, however my advice now would be pay someone else to do it.

I use one of these on my gti6's and go in from the top. Usually end up with a few small cuts on my wrists from the radiator but that's how i roll. LOL
