Hi folks, I'm Scott, I'm 40 and although originally from Fife in Scotland now live in Hampshire. I used to work for Peugeot way back in the day and years later bought myself an M plate S16 which was a fantastic car. Reason I joined on here is that I have just purchased a 306 Rallye....needs a bit of attention but nothing beyond my abilities Big grin .

I'm a proper dyed-in-the-wool petrolhead and also have a Nissan Skyline R32 GTR that I am building into a dedicated track/competition car. The build thread is HERE should anyone be interested. Here's a pic to whet the appetite....

I intend to get the Pug back up and running within a month and use it as a summer runabout and track car until the GTR is finished. Having had an S16 before myself and the use of my parents 205 1.9 GTI I really appreciate just how good Peugeot's handle for FWD cars. I usually fall into the trap of getting carried away and going daft on parts but I am crystal clear that I am keeping this very calm and sensible....that is the plan Whistle

So, I'm sure you will see me in various sections of the forum asking daft questions etc. Bear with me...even though I am still good with the spanners its been a while since I owned/worked on a Pug Razz

See you around.

If you need to speak to someone about not getting sucked in and spending money on a FWD Pug then Stan is the man to speak to LOL

I would love to have the money to have a track R32, it's my favorite car, as daft as it seems, but seeing those tuned up back in the day is what made me get into 'tuning' cars in the first place. The RB26 is the best piece of engineering on the planet. A 300 BHP turbo engine that has numerous people putting 200k on the clock.

Oh, i've been there and done it before. Had a couple of MKII Escort RS2000's back when I was a lad and they both went from std cars to Gp4 replica forest stormers. One got nicked and I sold the other to fund my PPL Unsure. Should have kept that one TBH....still, you live and learn!! Was looking for a nice MKII shell to drop the YB into but prices are just insane even for the dodgy stuff. Hell, I scrapped a shell that was in better condition than some I have seen advertised for BIG money!!

Not wishing to rub it in but the Skyline is just a truly awesome car. 'Awesome' has been diluted in recent years but damn....the GTR really does warrant its use. There was an R32 GTR on GTR forum (where I'd like to think im 'established'!) which went for just over £4k IIRC...needed tidying but was very useable. You could get a GTS for a good bit less but in my own opinion you are not getting the full GTR experience. If you want one, have a look around, look on GTROC forum and you will be surprised at just how low priced some cars are.

Im (reasonably) confident that I can keep this 306 restoration within the realms of sensibility.....unless I DO decide to drop the YB and 4WD running gear into it LOL
