Mine has been aswell. Ive always started it every week and let it warm up and put heaters blowing on.Im on the verge of putting her back 100% for putting back on the road. ive put new wheels and tyres on im gonna flush and do an oil change inc filters. Also took battery off for a full recharge. im gonna change rear discs and pads and probably fluid change ie brake fluid. ________________________________________ V6 Power!Faster I can go the better! ^I've read its best to just leave it and not start it/let it idle every weekend.....All I've done it taken battery off and put it on a trickler. Will be on the road this month after 3 month SORN.________________________________________ Ph1 Cossack 6' |

Idling constantly can cause the bores to glaze not to mention engine wear occurs mostly when cold so starting it once from cold every week doesn't do it good really. Always take the battery off, leve something absorbent inside the car like rice, don't leave the handbrake on.Once it's been sat a while before starting it for the first time unplug the injectors and crank it over for a minute or 2 to et some oil pressure up and flowing nicely around the engine. Then start it up. ________________________________________ Black power baby! Once it's been sat a while before starting it for the first time unplug the injectors and crank it over for a minute or 2 to et some oil pressure up and flowing nicely around the engine. Then start it up. Pretty much this. I turn the engine by hand every two weeks as opposed to starting it. Also, when it comes to starting it whip out the plugs too when cranking for a min or two. The reason for this is because that way as there is no compression, the load on the bottom end bearings is significantly reduced whilst they have no oil. Then once the oil pressure light goes out (normally after 30 secs of cranking) plug the injectors back in, put the plugs in and fire her up. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Some good tips here - in the interests of making the engine last a bit longer I'll take some of this advice in future. When I de-SORNed and started mine a few weeks ago I just cranked it a bit and turned it off before it caught a few times to get some oil moving before starting it properly which probably didn't have the full effect. Although I stored it with handbrake off, and I pushed the car back and forth a couple of feet every week or so to keep the brakes un-seized and to stop the tyres getting flat spotted. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

As I have a P1, I just neglected to put my pin number in so it turned over without me needing to take the plugs out... |

No it will turn over without you needing to disconnect the injectors. Will stop those and the plugs from firing but will still be under compression with plugs in. ________________________________________ Black power baby!
