Hi I'm gonna be getting some wheel studs and nuts from grayston, does anybody know the length needed for inside the hub and the thread needed. Also what angle is needed on the nuts, to be fitted to team dynamics, cheers |

Just get the Peugeot fitment studs, I can't remember the lengths but I had to turn down my studs for the front hubs as they caught.I got 80mm total length, that'll work with open ended nuts and allow for spacers etc if needed. A lot of people will s**t on about the Grayston stuff and it won't be fantastic quality, but I've not experienced a problem with them (yet?) and have had them on for about 9months. I did four laps of the ring without my wheels falling off ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

Interesting. How much fuel was in it when you weighed? Are you running any sort of plastics / fibreglass?________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Ah, that'll be why. We've still got glass and haven't really done anything in terms of weight saving apart from removing ABS.I sent an email to Speed shack this morning about a stud conversion kit, will see if they can supply anything ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Another option if you don't mind removing your hubs is to drill out the holes and fit Subaru studs. As said the grayston stuff isn't brilliant, make sure the thread in the hub is fully engaged, loctited and don't over tighten the nuts! ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

Allan, I guess the over tightening can be stopped by using a torque wrench? Speedshack have come back with the following prices for 10.8 grade studs:60mm stud: £1.50 each 80mm stud: £1.75 each Slim tuner nuts to fit TDs are £1.50 per nut plus £2.95 for the adapter key. I think we need 80mm studs for TDs? There's a discount if you buy the whole lot together and I think I could probably get a lower price if we order a few sets. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

I'm going to put spacers on the rear so will use some hubcentrics with studs on them. For the fronts I'm going to get AI Tech studs as they're strong enough grade for motorsport.________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

I linked the guy in the wanted thread to thesehttp://www.rallynuts.com/wheel-studs-and-nuts/ait-m12-x-125-to-m12-x-125-conversion-wheel-studs.html I found these far far better than grayston ones. Fitting the studs I'd far better. And the finish on the end of the stud is far better for getting the nuts on in a hurry. All round superior in my eyes. |

Are your 1.2's made for flat face or taper nuts? That pretty much determines which nuts to get. Then you want m12 x 1.25 nuts in either flat or taper face.Length of stud wise I can't help too much. I have a few sets at different lengths now. As I changed from various sized spacers from time to time. I would measure the thickness of the wheel where the stud holes are, then allow enough for the depth of the nut. I would guess 68mm would be enough for no spacers though. |

Definitely my preferred choice of stud Dan. Not let me down on the rally car ever.As for taper angle CJ I can't tell you. I'm sure there are nuts labelled for sale to suit the 306 taper etc. I had my wheels made for use with flat face nuts as that's all I've ever used. So I've never had to look in to the standard taper angle etc. |
