From a quick Google it looks like the tapered nut people might use is 60 degree taper. Although I stand to be corrected. If that's right tho, that site sells these to match the studs.

http://www.rallynuts.com/wheel-studs-and-nuts/ait-m12-x-125-60-taper-open-wheel-nuts.html

But if you look on ebay for peugeot 306 taper wheel nuts you will find nuts at a much cheaper price.

I think they need those slim tuner style nuts. I guess the studs are the weak link so any nuts has long has there correct should be ok. Looks like I've got to get the old measuring stick out tomorrow Thumbs up

I think your probably putting too much emphasis on the stud saying it's a weak link.

The studs and nuts hold the wheel against the hub. It's the part of the hub that locates in the centre bore of the wheel that deals with the stresses and forces of the wheel up and down. Hence why when using spacers people use hubcentric. So they don't pass the load on to the stud.

As for nuts. On the 1.2's Ive used, that's been with flat faced nuts which are pretty wide with the washer on them also and they fit the wheels fine... I'm not sure I see how you have had issues with needing slim nuts?

As for screwing them in I just put 2 wheel nuts on. Clamped them against each other so they locked on the stud and wound them in with those. ..

I found out this ones, in France, says it´s 12.9 steel at really good price. Buying 16, you get them at £2.00 each. I really wanted to buy a set, but shipping to Uruguay its just ridiculously high!

Can you not the buy the studding in a length and cut it down. It is only high tensile steel at the end of the day. As for the nuts, they should be able to be purchased from rally designs for not a lot of money.

Its not just studding cut down, never seen studding with a shank nor in 12x1.25, nor is it high tensile usually.

They changed the design slightly so that every 306 in the land wouldn't run 1.2's

You can get M12 metric fine high tensile studding. I was just thinking that the price charged for the studs could be halved by using studding which will be more than up to the job that's all.

I though about this but the ones from rallynuts are nicely formed and have that shoulder which will help them stay put hopefully

Just by cutting down some stud will make for a very half arsed set of studs in my opinion. Having the shoulder to screw them up to is very handy. There wont be any fail safe for the stud going too far through the hub.

And the end where you start the nut on, that has a nicely done taper to make it easier to start. For example, the grayston ones don't, and from experience, they can be a massive twat to get on in a hurry.

Would love to buy a set of those, but shipping to Uruguay is about £80!! Only the shipping!! Asked them if they could use a more economic way of shipping, but they wont bother in doing that. Thumbs down
