Try an ICV clean, after this I would change the CTS. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Yes, the CTS is the green one. My feeling is that it isn't sending the signal to the ECU that the engine is cold and therefore to add more fuel during a cold start up, hence the reason you need to use throttle to do it.Once warm, the issue goes away. This is telling me the CTS is stuck on telling the ECU that the engine is up to temperature all the time. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Right swap the CTS for the one on the xsi cleaned the ICV swapped the map sensor for a spare i had even swapped the black box thingy with the yellow plug on the throttle body because the clip had broken , i then found the lamba sensor connection was broken ive got it to clip together better . After all this it seems to start better not perfect like 4 or 5 turns but it does drive a lot better, would it be a idea to change the coil packs has i have no cover and the owner before me never had one you can tell by the amount of crap there was in there before i cleaned it out . ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Ok it now will start its a little reluctant try's firing on 2 to 3 cylinders before starting , could this be coil packs ? It has sat around unused for abit, it does now idle tho once it's started , there's a black plug not doing nothing near the throttle body is this unused or should it go somewhere Once again thanks for any help . Any ideas it's still a b**ch to start its better just not good , ive got a new green sensor on order and some replacement coil packs even tho the garage say they tested them and there fine , whats the symptoms for the lamba sensor playing up ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

The black plug near the throttle body is a spare - don't worry about that. Starting on 2 or 3 cylinders could point to a few symptoms: -Coil packs intermittently faulty (rare as they usually fail when hot and in the upper rev limit) -Spark plugs damp/fouled causing poor starting -Head gasket issues causing damp to flood cylinders on starting. Is there any pressure in the radiator if you undo the cap once the car has been switched off over four hours? Signs of lambda problems are: poor idling/stalling/poor acceleration/jerkiness in low revs/poor fuel consumption. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

What are the plugs like?Have you got a multimeter to test the ICV with? If so, then: Although you said it was idling okay now though. Have you cleaned up the earths? Might make it start a bit better along with new CTS. Is this the engine with lairy cams that may or may not be timed up right? ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Starting any better with a new CTS?Is your battery likely to be weak or not have much charge left? You mentioned that it had been sitting... a battery on its way out can cause problems. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Right p**sed about with it all day , I think the head gasket may have gone after it's been switched off it hisses from the rad cap and it's lost a lot of water. What do you guys think ? ________________________________________ Old pugs don't die they just get faster |

Potentially, HG on the way out can make it difficult to start as well, that's what happened to mine. The coolant seeps into the cylinders and when you try to start it from cold you're trying to start with a damp cylinder(s). If this is the case, if you leave the rad cap off and run it up to temperature it will bubble up very violently when the thermostat opens. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Nobody, the car was previously written off so decided it wasn't worth the expense. Still a bit gutted.Quotes are all huge as it is a fair amount of labour time. It is possible to do your own but it involves a fair outlay in parts as well. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
