Hi guys I'm now going down the route of swirl pot and external pump, I'm thinking of a setup like below, would this be a good setup?

Bosch 044 pump
Braided fuel hose
Sytec f1 bullet fuel filter
Swirl pot
Good ridge connections

Would this be good setup?

Would some be able to show me a diagram of how to connect it up to tank etc, where it would plug into and that, Smile

Top valve is tank return.
2nd is fuel rail retun
3rd is in tank pump to swirl feed
4th is fuel rail feed (swirl, filter, high pressure pump, rail)

No mate. Before pump. Really easy to setup. Use o/e pump and filter to feed swirl then swirl> filter >pump>rail.

As your running the lines inside the car I would advise using ptfe lines so you minimise fuel smell, the line is cheaper but the ends are more exspensive

So the original fuel line going back to the tank gets scraped and now routed back to swirl pot right I'm with itSmile

Alright will look at the PTFE ones ,

Was thinking of doing it all under the car but not sure yet

Was just gonna ask similar questions to this for when I recieve my upside down rich W one. Planning Bosch 044 but not sure on filter yet. Mine will be under the car so not bothered about shiny ends just no leaks!

What's a decent place to buy hose from? Can always get it same day from a factors but I've always found it doesn't last well and cracks very quickly.

Only question I have is , the line from the swirl pot feeding the fuel rail, does this rejoin the original line feeding the fuel rail or have you got to run complete new length to it?

Also the new high pressure pump, where does that wiring get wired into?

Depends if you need much higher fuel pressure than standard really. In which case I'd change the feed to the rail. The Bosch pump would be wired through a 4 pin relay using the existing feed to the in tank pump as the switched live with a permanent battery live to the relay.

Same way you'd wire up some extra headlights etc

I'd look at what all the guys with the richw swirl pots did, I'm sure most will have joined back onto the standard fuel pipe.
If you're doing the hole car in ptfe it'll get very expensive, probably £4-500 by the time you e got the pump etc and the extra work of having fittings welded to your fuel rail etc.

We use these, Alex is a top bloke and very helpful

Doesn't seem to be muh info on here at all about the rich w setup to be honest. When I come to do mine I'll take loads of pics and make an FAQ type thing. Anyone know what sort of current a Bosch 044 draws? 40A 4 pin relay with suitable wiring and fuse should do?

Yes use the standard wiring to switch the relay for the pump. I'm sure folk will have just tapped into the standard pump wiring for the second pump but that's far from ideal.

40a relay will be more than on top of the job, I believe max current will be 15-20 amps at 3bar

Not sure if I'm gonna bother with AN fittings just decent fuel line clips etc as it's under the car and doesn't need to look pretty.

Iirc on rusbezz white rallye it was the light blue wire to the tank that was the live to the relay.

While were on the subject anyone on high boost I've been told various different sets of injectors and some at 3 bar some at 4 bar.... Rich W said to me they use Siemens 630cc ones at 3 bar. But I've heard of 590cc at 4 bar or 560 as well or something as well.....

Best setup to go for? I'd be I favour of staying at 3 bar as I can't that often drive flat out for one and 4 bar just seems like its gonna make leaks happen easier.

Yep, that's plenty. My swirl pot came with a -6 outlet but I chopped it off and welded on a -8 in it's place. If you are ordering the pot from a manufacturer you can usually specify exactly what outlets you need.

Daveyboy, did you not drop the tank right down because of ground clearance?

I'd quite like to do that on mine, however would rather cut a hole for it to slot into and then bolt it down where I lips over and use the ring of bolts to clamp it in
