I really dint know how you lot get so many miles out of your tank!
Iv owned a lot of 306s gti6s and charged ones and never got more than 300 miles from a tank!!
My current daily has a 80litre tank and only just manage to get 400 from that and it's a bloody diesel

I'm like that. 350 a tank but then again in my vivaro I get 597 miles out of the tank and my mates has the same one and gets over 650 miles from the same amount! I need to remove some weight from my foot I think

Potentially due to when they drive it? I know mine is a daily drive and drives me 8 miles to work and 8 miles home 5 days a week in rush hour traffic... Brings my MPG down to about 18/20....

If I combine this with a run over the M1 to Manchester/ Leeds/ Nottingham etc then this sometimes increases my MPG to around 25/27.

I never get over 300 to a tank either (or if I do it is marginally over) - I wish I had the time and money to fill it up for a general run on a weekend mixing, city roads with motorways and country roads to get a better understanding of my MPG in general to see if either there is something up with my car or whether my poor mpg is solely down to the time of day I drive.

I think some of the high boost boys maxxed out the gearbox on the autobahn. It was 163 from what I remember.

You don't need boost to get to the max No I have hit the indicated max on the autobahn in the rallye when it was standard Yes

Also the car was perfectly stable at these speeds, it was cruising along quite nicely, certainly no problems with rattling or bits falling off Smile

You've managed to hit the limiter in 6th with it n/a? - I've had 136mph indicated on my tomtom but the needle was off the clocks past 140 at the time in mine which is n/a.

I'm not convinced even with 500bhp a 306 would do above 180mph, i reckon the coefficent of drag would be too much and the gearbox would crap itself. Please proove me wrong. Yes Laugh

To be fair it was only the max on the clocks so yeah you would need extra to get it to hit the limiter i guess. Havent had the guts to try it now the Rallye is boosted, probably end up in jail for dangerous driving Erm? :cops Doh

a lot of cars can do 180mph fairly easily I'm pretty sure with the benefit of the charger pushing more power the harder you rev I think 180 is very feasible. pretty sure that with 500bhp it would be possible I'll let you know when I succeed ha ha

Possibly but then you start to think about thing like the driveshafts and gearbox and wheel bearings at that speed a their not designed for that at all.

I know Pete that's why I said not for prolonged use but to say you've done 180mph is quite a feat in most cars. I. pretty silly to say that the best part of 170mph is pretty nice to know I've don that with the superhighboost revving out more it'll do it.

To get a car over 160mph is very hard due to aerodynamics.

To be fair if you got caught doing that you'd need something pretty big to use as a fuel tank! that's the fun of being able to do that speed nobody thinks you can/will run out of fuel but you will fast

Could always do what the Honda civic drag cars do I've seen at Santa pod loads of times.... They literally drill loads. Massive holes in the rear bumper so you don't get as much drag from it
