Awesome. Ordered a set along with some 406 8v turbo HT leads. Thats just about everything sorted now. Just need a throttle body adapter making up for the inlet unless I can find a 70mm body that eill bolt straight on. I am joking yes  its going in with my mate jim next thursday while I am in spain for 4 days to have abit work done. New exhaust cam fitted, Cam timing set up, Compression test, Wheel bearings & ball joints, Omex loom modified, Sure there was more but cant remember off the top of my head. I now have a nice collection of parts whats all pretty much ready to be fitted. Still needing a fuel rail and TB adapter but other than that I shouldn't be far off now. Not a lot been happening lately except from I had a compression test done while I was away. Came back that 1 cylinder is only making 40psi where as the other 3 were making 200psi. Jim stuck a camera in the bore to find damage to the top of piston 3. I'd imagine there will be more to loosing compression than just damage at the top of the piston. This isnt the engine that the belt snapped on, its the engine I bought from C_J_M with the catcams in. I was referring to it potentially having a snapped belt a few years back and marks on the top of the piston shouldn't make a huge compression difference like that... might effect it by a small amount but I doubt 160 psi difference.Not as of yet mate. I haven't actually been to the depot yet. Will be there tomorrow. All sorted for getting my compression fixed now. Cars going in friday morning. Offered to stay and help so shouldnt take too long. Fingers crossed it will all be up and running 100% come friday afternoon then next month can focus on having fuel rail made up and throttle body adapter than that should be the inlet pretty much ready for fitting. Need to figure out weather I can lower the standard alternator or weather its too big. I wanted to fit the standard alternator where i've fitted my smaller one but gave up on the idea as there wasnt enough space if mounting it to the sump iirc.________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

It could also have been to do with mounting the alternator to the sump, it rings a bell slightly that it wouldnt be as straight forward as making a bush for the lug on the sump and a spacer between the sump and alternator.________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |
