Made a start on the interior today. Pulled seats and carpets out to find my matrix is either leaking or it has leaked in the past but when I took the carpets out I had puddles on the floor and the padding on the bottom of the carpet was soaked through! Weighed a tone when I took them out. Tried squeezing the water out and drying it but not a lot was working so I just pulled all the foam padding off, will save me a lot of weight, carpets weigh hardly anything now. While I have the carpets and interior out I made a start running the braided brake lines through the car.
Stickers for the brembos came today as well.

Haha Chris you'll never learn LOL I think you should have the tag line the next car is a 306... Roll eyes

If my circumstances were different then another '6 would be just what I need but as things are I'm too keen to save for my 1st house and being engaged and having a 3 yr old step son puts it all into perspective. However I reckon I'll be back, money's on a Cherry Rallye, when the time comes Thumbs up

Got myself a nice little light for working in the dark today Cool comes in quite handy for these early dark nights.
Managed to get my braided lines ran through the car and interior put back together except for the front seats as i could do with some new ones. I have not long been back from collecting my new manifold off pete_rallye's BTCC car. Nice bit of hit he has sitting in the garage and such a helpful bloke Thumbs up Manifold is the same the original BTCC manifold if i heard him right with the high flow sports cat. Manifold also came with a full magnex pug Motorsport exhaust with an awful tailpipe welded on!
Pics of manifold to follow

The manifold is the same as the btcc ones but not the one from my btcc 306, as I still need that! The cat was added to the manifold to satisfy rallying requirements, although the btcc cars did actually run a motorsport cat also. Nice to meet you to Chris!

Heres a pic of the 406 plenum I thought fitted the inlet you have, but not sure its the same after all as the inlet looks to be all carbon on this one...

Can't see how they'd be any better than a set of Itb's, and I imagine space was a bit of an issue, but its something different thats for sure!

Good to meet you too pete, thanks for all the info on the btcc parts ect Thumbs up exhaust doesnt look to bad now its home, might just see about getting that tail pipe sorted out and just using the full system. Let me know about that fuel rail mate, I will have it if you decide to let it go to good use Wink
Yeah I have also seen that one. Dont think it would be much good on the 306 with the rad being in the way.
Couple pics of the manifold.

Thats the manifold wrapped up. Wrapped it so I can still take it apart too make fitting easyer. I have left the bottom bit so I can chop the cat off and have a fresh bit pipe welded on as the cat sounds like its not going to be much good anyway rattling away. Looks like I have bought another carbon coilpack cover too LOL should have just kept my last one...

The little gaps are where the manifold joins, its not fully bushed together yet.
Still no engine yet seb! Was hoping it would be as I wanted to get it fitted tomorrow but looks like I will just have to wait now Sad

Had a good day working on the car today. Thanks for popping down to give me a hand Seb Thumbs up

Managed to get my broken engine out and to be honest its a mess! every valve has bent and there is alot of play in the cams!
Before i pulled the engine out i trail fitted the BTCC inlet. It looks awesome but needs a bit work done to get it to fit. Need to have a backing plate made up to sit between the inlet and the head as the inlet is missing 2 of the injector lugs so there is a gap between the inlet and the head on the 2 end ports! 2nd thing is i am going to need a fuel rail made up to fit as standard one doesnt fit Sad
After i removed the engine it was time to degrease the engine bay to clean it up a little, AC pipes ect... was removed, Brake lines, ABS pump and wiring were also removed to make way for my new braided lines Cool There is a little rust on the chassis leg but not to worry.
Also managed to give my spare axle a lick of paint ready to fit solid mounts.

Leaving engine bay as it is, just gave it a little clean. Engine I will tidy up and paint a little before I fit it. Not sure about any yellow yet. Was just going to stick to silver and black on the engine to be honest. Thinking of getting rid of the vacuum pump on the side of the head to help tidy the bay up a little more.

Wink and more parts on their way for when you come down next weekend. Hopefully have my new engine painted and all the shiney biys fitted ready to fit. I thought my inlet manifold would have went missing when you left but no it was still there Razz
Heres how my axle stands at the minute

May let you take this magnex back box I have depending on what my new one is like when it arrives. After You left I managed to get the rear wheels off, pretty much all the abs wiring and fit the brake lines then painted my axle. I was going to stick this magnex on too but thought I would wait till the new one comes
