Trouble is mate you've changed a few things on you're engine without a remap. From my conversation with people with the manifold you have, is it has very different exhaust flow that and the lack of v power may mean it's getting very high cylinder temps and detonation. In a way I'm Glad you're friend agreed it looked like det as was a bit worried as no one else seems to have commented.

Hopefully I will have the omex ect... all fitted soon and ready for a fresh map what will hopefully sort things out and see me a strong 220bhp. Thats what I am hoping for anyway. I will try get it on the rollers next week too so I can see what I am starting with before I fit everything.
Love the sound of the car with the maniflow and magnex on

You got a vid of it mate? Ash has a maniflow manifold for sale at the moment and I'm debating it for the super highboost but worry that it won't flow enough top end for 450+bhp. Sound?

Sounds very different to a standard manifold and magnex ?

its the stainless manifold, and the 4-2-1 over a 4-1 plus cams makes it sound different, add the closed intake too.

I dont think its a stainless manifold. Will hopefully sound a lot better once the VLR is fitted. Cant work out what the plenum as made from, looks a bit like wood.

thats what I meant, most race manifolds are mild steel which is what gives the different sound.

I had an AEM but sold it a while back. Trying to buy it back. Sure omex can read air/fuel if I plug it into laptop or is it still worth fitting a gauge?

omex might well read it, as does my DTA, but it wont do anything useful with it unless you're mapping, I just have it as a standalone telltale gauge rather than something for the ecu to use.

Had to buy some silicone water pipes as im going to have to move the rad forward to allow the extra room for the inlet so bought some nice yellow wire reinforced silicone hose. Already got an alloy thermostat adapter from spoox. Wasnt cheap but was my only iption really as i couldnt find a 205 take off. Will need a slim line fan to as the rad is going to be close to the bumper so standard fan housing isnt going to fit.

Just leave your laptop connected, then you can make sure you don't blow the welds on the intake

Not too happy with AutoSiliconeHoses.com ordered the yellow flex pipe off their ebay store and they told me they wont be stocking it any time soon and sent me a link to their website to buy it. So bought it last week and got the same email again yesterday saying they wont be doing yellow so had to get black. Suppose it will do...
Also picked up another GTi6 to strip for parts. To be honest the car is in pretty good shape but will be getting stripped for parts. I will be keeping a few bits for the nile likes of hubs, interior and other little bits and bobs and everything else will be sold to fun omex fitting and mapping. Already removed the very good condition leather & suede interior to replace the leather and cloth interior meridian interior that was in mine.

Been on pulling a few more bits and bobs off the black 6 today to go onto the nile. Pulled out a canny set of infinity speakers with tweeters and amps. Also pulled the bilstein B4 shocks off the back axle and found an FSE boost valve too. No idea where that even came feom but never mind i will have it anyway Laugh my ass off

Then I caught this little f**ker buzzing around my utility room
