Cheers

it's mostly just removing plastic interior s**t, it's not a hard job, it's just lots of it, and looks overwhelming but it's just wires________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

As above it's not technical, just fairly labour intensive unfortunately. I'd do it sooner rather than later as I give it 6 days until it gets to the temperature where doing a job like this becomes a bit punishing on the fingers. Personally I'd use a large crowbar if you aren't worried about superficial dash marks. Will knock hours off too. Don't do that. ________________________________________ |

Gsf do a decent brand, but think this way mate... Once it's done you shouldn't have to do it again (theoretically).________________________________________ Richies Project RallyeElectrical work carried out in Portsmouth jamiek_uk2000 wrote: - Top Tip!!! IIRC, Valeo is non Air con and Behr is with A/C.Was around £70 when I did mine a few years ago. puttng the dash back together is pretty straight forward, just remember to plug everything back in, check, and double check any wires. And make sure it's not leaking before putting the dash back ________________________________________ My Pugrun 2007/2009 video clipsTake a look Pugrun 2007...Lose yourself Xbox Live ID: Marksixysix (Forza 3, Forza 4 PES 2010, COD 6/MW2, WRC 2010). As mentioned more time consuming then anything. I did mine a bit at a time ie removed all the stereo surround and dial trims , air vents and control panel and center console.Next day I removed wiper motor and loosened all bolts from fire wall under hood etc Day 3 did the inside bolts and removed heater box and matrix. Day 4 painted and cure rusted the steering column and repaired heater box drain pipe. Day 5 started putting it all back together and day 6. Obviously each day I just spent a couple of hours but all during I was still driving the car except when I removed the matrix and hoped it didnt rain with no wipers! Lol Lot less strenuous then lol ________________________________________ V6 Power!Faster I can go the better! Its not what you drive, its how you drive that wins the race! |

I removed my dash and matrix, threw all the bits in the back of the car, left it a year then put it back together, I had no spare screws left either!________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

5 days?! jesus christ i suppose it does get easier doing it a few times - it's about a 3 hour job start to finish.. first time is just scratching your head and being in awe of wiring and whatnot ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

Most satisfying part of this job is the 7 self tappers you're left with to pop in your 'random screw jar'.________________________________________ |

Did mine a while ago out of precaution while I had the dash out. GSF did meA "Hella" /behr matrix for about £45 iirc that was identicke to the original that came out. Wouldn't recommend nissens for matrix's their cheaply made and brittle plastic. This is a job you want to do once. (Though their radiators are good quality) Just take your time and label everything. Also don't forget To plug in the brake light switch before the dash is back in.... Lol. Have done loads of these now can be done in about 4 hours if all goes well. Did one on a 106 gti a few weeks ago with a mate. NEVER AGAIN!! ________________________________________ Black power baby! This job won't be done in 4hrs that's for sure I thought the Nissens were decent quality? I'd rather put a decent one in as mentioned, it's a job you don't want to do twice Euro car parts sell the Hella one (Behr) for £68 - I might just grab than one. Just found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131022569683?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 should I, or should I stay clear? Thanks Matt. |

Another thing, If you haven't already removed the hoses, be careful as connections are easily broken.________________________________________ '90 1.6 205 GTi, '98 306 GTi-6 |

I got 2 spare hoses here if you break them Once you remove the metal clip, there is another metal clip thing that needs to be pushed to the side to release it. ________________________________________ '90 1.6 205 GTi, '98 306 GTi-6 |

I'd change the O rings as they swell up and go hard over time and they cost next to nothing, get them from pug tho.________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Iv done s**te loads of these and are easy to do, just a tip tho... before putting the dash back in, pressurise the system and check for leaks...2 ways to do this: Make a seal around the rad filler cap and blow as hard as you can whilst blanking off the over flow or remove the matrix inlet outlet hose in the engine bay, block one and blow down the other until your red in the face. If the O-rings are not seated properly or if you nick them whilst fitting you will be able to see the water or hear the air escaping from the join |
