2 ways to do this:
Make a seal around the rad filler cap and blow as hard as you can whilst blanking off the over flow
or remove the matrix inlet outlet hose in the engine bay, block one and blow down the other until your red in the face.

If the O-rings are not seated properly or if you nick them whilst fitting you will be able to see the water or hear the air escaping from the join

Very true. Without this site I'd be lost. All the info regarding the heater matrix, even stupid things like getting the correct part/numbers etc, the FAQ thread how to get to/remove/replace the matrix, without that info I'd be screwed. I got my insurance last week with Greenlight through this site at a very good price.
