Hi everyone

I've just jumped in to this club, which I gotta say seems top notch!

My black phase 2 is bog standard and in near perfect bodily nick!
Going in for a front wheel bearing and clutch cable (I hope it's that, not the clutch, but...) next week and after that, I need to sort a 'tight' drivers side window.

It's really pushed my button in terms of acceleration and engine sound, but I have yet to delve the depths of its handling.
I've just put a pair of Verdestein sportrac 5's on the front and grip does seem to be vacuum-like!

30mpg out of my first tank, which I think is reasonable, considering the number of squirts I've given it.

So, I'm looking forward to lots of fun in this lil fella.

welcome, as for mpg, doesn't seem to matter how I drive mine, always seems to give 30-32 Smile

to improve mpg, i'd recommend using super-unleaded fuel

Thats the same with mine. Only time its noticeably more is on a long steady run where it'll usually get 36-38mpg. Smile

That nudging 38-40mpg I suspect. Very good.
How much difference is the boosted one? Im guessing not to bad off boost?

Hello and welcome, Ive found if in the engine's in good nick with relatively new Lambda's/ coolant temp sensors they can be very economical. Got 450.9 miles to a tank of Shell Vpower last week in mine.

Thanks everyone!

I love the way that there's just so much info/tips residing in the group - new lambda and coolant temp sensor improving mpg - who knew?!
Shock)

Just called my mech buddy and asked him to do the clutch on Weds, if he thinks it's causing the stiff pedal, and thanks to some chat in the tranny forum, asked him to look at other bits while he's in there.
Feck it, only money, right? And what cost being able to use the 'box as it was intended, in the twisty lanes near home?!
;o)

Just going to get the car 100% before any mods.
I'll try to report back on improvements made in the relevant forums soon.

My clutch pedal has been stiff ever since ive had my 6 (about 4 years) although never caused me any issues. Its not overly stiff as to me its just as its always been and im used to it. Sometimes it feels a little jerky in a sense that it feels like your either under biting point or over it so can be a bit of a mess about if your trying to hold it on a hill at biting point.

When I take it to garages a lot of the mechanics comment on its stiffness by means of 'f*ck me you must have strong legs'

But like I say been running it about 4 years like that and not changed the clutch yet. If I don't drive the car for a few days the clutch pedal sort of stiffens even more in that for a few mile it feels like there is only minimal movement available until it warms up. But still changes gear fine etc....

Just thought I'd share this with you before you spend £££££ on a new clutch. But I am in no way mechanically minded so if a mechanic recommends it then maybe it needs doing. Just thought I would share experience with stiff clutch pedal. I will not be held responsible if you don't get it done and it goes in an awkward place haha.

    You will be amazed the difference swapping the clutch cable makes... For about a week. Then it will be back to normal Thumbs up if you aren't swapping the clutch then I wouldn't bother with the cable.

    Clutch is always stiff in these cars, it's one of the things that will keep your missus out of it LOL that and the 'horrible' heavy steering Smile

    Noticed you say you want the car 100% mint before you start modding, that's a road to ruin! A suspension refresh (Peugeot OE is excellent for a road car and more than adequate) will do it the world of good, make sure you have some good quality tyres all round and off you go.

    Just add petrol!

    Has the cambelt been done?

    Dont think its done 450 miles since it was boosted..... LOL

    my charged 6 does 400 miles plus to a tank of vpower on a steady run. And about 40 miles if you boot it lol
